  1. 'Dig deeper'published at 16:13 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2022

    Ghana 0-2 Uruguay

    Sebastien Bassong
Former Spurs Defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Ghana need to go and dig deeper in terms of energy, intensity and aggression because at the end of the day now they've got 45 minutes. They've got to find some triggers in order for them to get this first goal and as soon as the first goal is scored I reckon the fans are going to get back behind them.

Darwin Nunez shows his pace as he wins a race down the right flank and swings the ball back across towards Luis Suarez, but there's too much on it. Nunez has made some exciting runs but his final pass has just let him down a bit so far.

    South Korea 1-1 Portugal

The nine shots on goal in the first-half (Portugal 6, South Korea 3) is the most recorded in any match at this World Cup. Brazil versus Turkey in 2002 (10) was the last time there were more shots on target in the first-half of a World Cup game.

A chance for Ghana almost immediately after the restart!

Mohammed Kudus is stretching to meet a ball at the back post and is inches away, but he looks as though he was well offside anyway. Promising.

Half a chance for Cristiano Ronaldo!

A lovely pass drops at his feet but Portugal's captain cannot get a firm connection and the ball spins into the arms of keeper Kim Seung-gyu.

    Ghana 0-2 Uruguay

    Pablo Zabaleta
Ex-Man City and Argentina defender on BBC Two

Ghana have quality enough to score goals we have seen it in this tournament but I expect Uruguay to keep playing the same way, not to drop off and be too defensive.

It's been a good game so far so let's hope for another exciting 45 minutes.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:10 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2022

    Ghana 0-2 Uruguay

There's a double change for Ghana at the break.

Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew have been replaced by Kamaldeen Sulemana and Osman Bukari.

    HT: Ghana 0-2 Uruguay

As it stands, Uruguay are on their way to the last 16.

The equation is simple for Ghana. They need to score two goals and earn a point to qualify.

The Black Stars have, of course, scored at least twice in both games so far.

Here come the players for the second half.

  10. Postpublished at 16:07 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2022

    South Korea 1-1 Portugal

Uneventful start to the half. All of the excitement is coming off the pitch where both sets of fans are in great spirits.

  11. Watch: Suarez leads protestspublished at 16:07 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2022

    HT: Ghana 0-2 Uruguay

As expected, Luis Suarez has been keeping a low profile...

The Uruguay captain led the protests against the decision to award Ghana a penalty, though it was Darwin Nunez who received a yellow card and remains the only player to do so so far.

  12. Will Portugal go after South Korea?published at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2022

    South Korea 1-1 Portugal

    Danny Murphy
Former England midfielder on BBC One

I expect Portugal to be more positive with their passing and go after South Korea a bit more.

    HT: Ghana 0-2 Uruguay

    Pablo Zabaleta
Ex- Man City and Argentina defender on BBC Two

We knew before the game that it would be a special game with what happened in 2010 and the intensity of the game with two teams trying to go through.

Some good actions, pleased for Uruguay that they are trying to play offensive football.

  15. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:02 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2022

South Korea need a goal to stay in the World Cup!

    Back under way.

Uruguay's opening goal came from Facundo Pellistri's right-wing cross and it's clear the Manchester United winger (purple 8) is offering the South Americans plenty of thrust and enterprise down the right flank.

  17. 'Portugal punished'published at 16:01 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2022

    HT: South Korea 1-1 Portugal

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC One

It was a good response from South Korea to Portugal getting their goal.

They've come back well and scored a very good goal. Portugal had a warning, took notice and got punished.

Ghana players held a committee meeting out on the pitch before making their way down the tunnel?

They missed the penalty and it has gone progressively worse them thereafter.

Any way back in the second half?

    HT: Ghana 0-2 Uruguay

    Didier Drogba
Former Ivory Coast striker on BBC Two

The penalty put Ghana back in 2010 and back in that situation.

It's difficult to come back after missing a penalty especially with it being captain Andre Ayew who missed it. It will be difficult for Ghana but they will have to come up with more solutions.
