'Very professional'
FT: Netherlands 3-1 USA
Jurgen Klinsmann
Former Germany head coach on BBC One
It was a very professional performance from the Dutch team. They took the wind out of the sails of the US team. The US started well but the first goal settled things down.
I'm a bit sad for the US but I think you see a young team that will only get better.
'Netherlands in control'
FT: Netherlands 3-1 USA
Alex Scott
Former England and Arsenal defender on BBC One
The Netherlands were technically better than the US. They were in control both in and out of possession. And at a tempo that they didn't really exert themselves.

Emma Sanders
BBC Sport at Khalifa International Stadium
Subdued celebrations from Louis van Gaal at full-time. Well, they weren't even celebrations, just a few handshakes.
He did tell that journalist he would be in the final so this is very much "job done" at this stage.
There are USA players in tears on the pitch.

FT: Netherlands 3-1 USA
Here is the goal that finally extinguished the USA flame at this tournament. Decent finish from the highly-impressive Dumfries.
FULL-TIME
Netherlands 3-1 USA
Ruthlessly efficient from the Netherlands, who march on into the last eight.
The USA bow out with head held high. Next time they play at a World Cup finals, they'll be co-hosting the thing.
Post update
Netherlands 3-1 USA
Into the final minute. Sixty seconds for the USA to try and enjoy at Qatar 2022.
Post update
Netherlands 3-1 USA
Two of the added six minutes remain.
'Good future ahead for the US team'
Netherlands 3-1 USA
Dion Dublin
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live
USA have had a good World Cup, they've looked good. There's a lot of youth in that side and they will be looking towards the future.
'Formation suits Ake'
Netherlands 3-1 USA
Martin Keown
Former England defender on BBC One
Nathan Ake has been very good. I think his skillset suits playing the left side of a back three. He's looked very comfortable.
SUBSTITUTION
Netherlands 3-1 USA
The Dutch eat into time by sending on Matthijs de Ligt and Wout Weghorst for Nathan Ake and Cody Gakpo, whose scoring run comes to an end.
He's going to get at least one more chance, though.
SUBSTITUTION
Netherlands 3-1 USA
A final change for the USA. Jordan Morris is on for Antonee Robinson.
Post update
Netherlands 3-1 USA
We'll have six added minutes. Surely not enough for the USA to do anything remarkable.
Post update
Netherlands 3-1 USA
The USA again try to burrow their way through the masses around the edge of the box. Yunus Musah's shot is blocked.
'Difficult opponent'
Netherlands 3-1 USA
Martin Keown
Former England defender on BBC One
The Dutch will make for a difficult opponent as they travel through this competition.
Post update
Netherlands 3-1 USA
The Dutch are packing the area around their own box. None shall pass.
YELLOW CARD
Netherlands 3-1 USA
A cynical challenge to bring down Brenden Aaronson as he sought to break brings a yellow card for Frenkie de Jong.
'USA leaving themselves open'
Netherlands 3-1 USA
Dion Dublin
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live
You go chasing the game and leave yourselves open at the back. The Netherlands have a lot of pace up front.

Peter Humfrey: Lacking in discipline at the back. Dumfries had a whole postcode to himself there. This USA side needs steel at the back and a finisher up top. Talented but not the finished product.
Bob Moss: USA just cannot defend, I think I could have scored that.
Damian Fogarty: Groan - a young USA team conceding with school boy defending for the Dutch third goal.

Netherlands 3-1 USA
Nice try!
Tim Ream wins the header from the corner and Walker Zimmermann goes for the overhead kick but sends the ball wide.
Post update
Netherlands 3-1 USA
Into the final five minutes. Sadly, we won't be getting the grandstrand finish we hoped for. Or maybe we will? The USA have a corner...
