The Poles have been positive but that leaves them vulnerable to the counter attack.

It's a brilliant finish, iand it looks like game over. He composes himself and fizzes the ball past Wojciech Szczesny. What a finish.

Didier Deschamps knows the Poles are poleaxed.

Wow, what a strike that is.

Olivier Giroud brought that ball out of the sky, he was secure and then you've got Ousmane Dembele on the right-hand side and Giroud goes the opposite way to give Kylian Mbappe the space to do that.

That's a really, really good finish. What a great goal.

Kylian Mbappe surely puts France into the quarter-finals with his eighth World Cup goal.

Poland are on the attack and Antoine Griezmann drops back into his own area to clear the ball to Olivier Giroud.

Giroud finds Ousmane Dembele, who picks out Mbappe on the edge of the box. Mbappe just curls the ball into the near top corner when we're all expecting the other side.

Here goes Kylian Mbappe on the left. Surely he's away - but no. A poor touch gives the ball to Poland.
