Is anyone going to stop Brazil? How can Croatia have success today?

And which dance moves do you want to see being busted out in Qatar today?

  2. Post update

I'd love it if Bevo came back from Qatar with that trim.

  3. The World Cup winning haircut?

    Croatia v Brazil (15:00 GMT)

    haircut

It's 20 years since Brazil last won the World Cup - and this was the haircut that helped them do it (and won the Golden Boot too).

I definitely won't be asking any Doha barbers for a 'Ronaldo 2002' any time soon but at least two young Brazil fans have arrived at the game with a fresh trim inspired by the legendary striker.

I'm not sure their parents will approve though. When he was asked about his iconic look before the tournament, Ronaldo joked: "My mum – and millions of mums around the world – they all hate me to this day. I met some people whose son had the same haircut. I apologise! I'm very sorry for that."

  4. Post update

But if you can pick up the remote/zapper/doofer and flick over to BBC One now you'll end up catching the end of Doctors.

Maybe go to the kettle first.

  5. How to follow 'Fabulous Friday'

    BBC Sport

Both of today's quarter-finals will be live on BBC TV, radio and online on 'Fabulous' Friday.

The two matches will be broadcast on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer.

Radio commentary of both quarter-finals will also be available in the UK on BBC Sounds, with live text coverage on the BBC Sport website and app.

Basically - even if you have to nip to the chippy, pick up the kids, whatever - you ain't gonna miss a thing.

  6. Brazil on fire, their attack is terrifying

    Croatia v Brazil (15:00 GMT)

Brazil have long been an alluring attraction for football fans and they have again been delighting their supporters - plus many neutrals from around the world - with their free-flowing moves in Qatar.

The Selecao tore South Korea apart with a devastating attacking performance in their last-16 tie, underlining why Tite's side are considered the favourites to lift the trophy on 18 December.

"What I've seen so far, when you take a look at their players, their quality, skills and value, then it is indeed terrifying," said Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic.

"We need to enter the match with much faith, self-confidence and looking for our chances, enjoy the occasion of playing Brazil, that's it."

  7. Post update

    Croatia v Brazil (15:00 GMT)

    Thoughts on the team news?

Pretty much what we expected for both nations, I think.

As a defender myself that Brazil front four sends shivers down my spine.

Luckily Raphina, Vinicius Jr, Neymar nor Richarlison will be turning up at Manchester Powerleague 9-a-side anytime soon.

Croatia make two changes to the side that scraped past Japan on penalties in the round of 16.

Borna Sosa has recovered from injury and starts at left-back in place of Borna Barisic.

The other change sees former Chelsea midfielder Mario Pasalic come in for Bruno Petkovic.

Croatia XI: Livakovic, Juranovic, Lovren, Gvardiol, Sosa, Modric, Brozovic, Kovacic, Pasalic, Kramaric, Perisic.

First things first... the two teams have already been announced.

    Who's in? Who's not?

    Time to tell you more...

  10. Crunch games

But today it is back to the most important job of all: ensuring your undivided attention is on Qatar.

Two absolutely stonking matches kick off the quarter-final stage as Brazil, Croatia, the Netherlands and Argentina look to be the first two teams to reach the semi-finals.

    Here's the menu:

  11. Back to business

    Hello! How are we all?

Feeling starved of World Cup football after two (yes, two) whole days without it?

At least you were able to concentrate on the everyday stuff you've been neglecting.

You know... getting the vacuum cleaner out, buying a Christmas tree, spending time with loved ones, etc, etc.

  12. Welcome to 'Fabulous Friday'

Luka Modric, Neymar, Lionel Messi and Louis van Gaal

Things have been building up nicely in Qatar and now we've reached a stage today where the buzz cranks up another notch: the quarter-finals.

The tournament favourites versus the 2018 runners-up.

Then a repeat of the 1978 final in another glamorous match-up.

If these two appetising showdowns don't give you that 'Friday feeling' then nothing will.

Not even everyone's favourite honeycomb chocolate bar.
