Hope it lives up to the past four hours or so!

Thanks for your company and until next time...

  2. Watch how Croatia stunned Brazil

Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Croatia win 4-2 on pens)

This was a match which will long live in the memory - for good or bad reasons depending on your allegiance.

We have got a loads of video for you to get stuck into, starting with the game's highlights...

Followed by Marquinhos's decisive penalty miss...

But penalties wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for Bruno Petkovic's late equaliser...

The equaliser came after Neymar thought he'd won it with a special goal which also equalled Pele's goals record for the Brazil men's national side...

  3. Brazil's missed penalties

FT: Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Croatia win 4-2 on Penalties)

    Rodrygo's penalty is saved
Marquinhos' penalty on its way to strike the post
  4. Why didn't Neymar take a penalty earlier?

Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Croatia win 4-2 on pens)

Ex-England defender Rio Ferdinand also thinks Neymar should have stepped up earlier...

  5. Post update

FT: Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Pens: 4-2)

    Jurgen Klinsmann

Former Germany head coach on BBC One

Neymar would have been my number one penalty taker. You need him to set the tone.

  6. Samba band stops in São Paulo

    Katy Watson

Image caption: Natalie was confident before the match

At the public arena in São Paulo, the music is still playing from the speakers but the samba band has stopped. The mood is pensive - this is a nation that really believed they’d be going to the finals.

Natalie and Alex who I spoke to in extra time were confident - but now they say they'll support Croatia.

Football is everything for Brazilians - and so is this loss.

My eldest was at a kids party and my partner said it felt like they'd double-booked it with a funeral - that's the mood here in Brazil. But they'll pick themselves up and hope again.

SMS Message: Why is it a shock? Croatia have a great recent World Cup record. Pundits fawn over Brazil. Brazilian team act as though they have a divine right to win. But all style and no substance. from Nick

SMS Message: Croatia have played four nil-nils against Morocco, Belgium, two games taken to penalties, they've only beaten Canada in 90 mins. They're one game away from the Final. Something's not right!???!!! from Anon

Shamshad: Played two consecutive 120 minutes matches and still Croatians have energy to play another big match. What a team!

  8. "The recipe for success"

Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Croatia win 4-2 on pens)

    Chris Bevan

BBC Sport at Education City, Qatar

Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic has just popped into the press conference, clutching his latest man of the match award.

Asked about the mental strength of his team to come through their second shoot-out of this World Cup, he replied: "First of all we are experienced and we are raised as fighters. We spare no efforts, we are giving our best - and that is the recipe for success."

  9. Croatia digging in

Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Croatia win 4-2 on pens)

Croatia's style won't be everyone's cup of tea but, hey, it works for them.

Remarkably they have only won one game in 90 minutes at this World Cup.

They have led a game for 46 minutes across the whole thing - when they won 4-1 against Canada and took the lead after 44 minutes.

  10. 'Absolutely incredible'

    Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Pens: 4-2)

    Alex Scott

Former England and Arsenal defender on BBC One

It's absolutely incredible. The experience Croatia have, Modric surrounded by the others, it is a complete team effort. They know the pressure, they like it.

Brazil were my favourites. But this is a World Cup which keeps throwing up surprises.

  11. Make sure you get in this pic!

Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Croatia win 4-2 on pens)

    Chris Bevan

BBC Sport at Education City, Qatar

    Croatia

The entire Croatia squad has gathered for a celebratory photo in front of the stand housing most of their fans... everyone was invited, all their support staff came sprinting over.

The rest of the stadium has emptied extremely quickly, apart from a block of Brazil fans at the other end. Their players have only just departed - most of them were still in tears as they walked off.

  12. Watch decisive penalty again

Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Croatia win 4-2 on penalties)

Unless you're Marquinhos, or you're Brazilian, you might want to watch the penalty which saw Croatia knock out the tournament favourites...

  13. Croatia spot on again

Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Croatia win 4-2 on penalties)

Like Pat Nevin says, Croatia are pretty good at this penalty shoot-out business. And their record at the major tournaments proves it.

    Played: 5

    Won: 4

After losing their first shoot-out in the Euro 2008 quarter-final, they have now won all four since at World Cups.

They kept their cool from 12 yards to beat Denmark and Russia on their way to the 2018 final, while keeper Dominik Livakovic was also the hero in Qatar when they beat Japan in the last 16.

  14. 'Croatia are quite good at this'

Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Croatia win 4-2 on penalties)

    Pat Nevin

Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Croatia came back. They were one goal down and didn’t stop fighting.

They scored four penalties out of four. They are quite good at this.

  15. Croatia celebrate

Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Croatia win 4-2 on penalties)

The Croatia celebrations are still going on.

Players, coaches, other staff, kids - basically, everyone - are out on the pitch and posing for a team photo.

What a moment for this small Balkan nation which continues to punch above its weight in world football.

    Croatia celebrate
  16. 'Modric controlled the game'

FT: Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Pens: 4-2)

    Micah Richards

Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Modric, we thought it would be his last World Cup.

Some of the passes he made, controlling the tempo. He dictated at his pace, Brazil didn't know what to do.

Luka Modric scores in the penalty shoot-out
  17. Post update

Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Croatia win 4-2 on penalties)

Wonder if the Argentina and Netherlands players managed to watch the penalties?

Imagine Lionel Messi and co particularly enjoyed it if they did...

The other semi-final is going to kick off in just over an hour, remember.

  18. 'Death in the family'

Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Croatia win 4-2 on penalties)

    Tim Vickery

BBC Sport South American football expert

This is death in the family. That is what it is going to feel like in the next few hours for Brazil fans.

Croatia have sent the far bigger nation into mourning.

  19. Post update

Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Croatia win 4-2 on penalties)

Antony is still crying uncontrollably. Might be a river on the pitch soon.

This is going to be such a tough one to take for Brazil.

Wayne: Got to hand it to Croatia, they never know when they’re beaten. Wouldn’t bet against them making another final.

Eamonn: Four incredible penalties from Croatia to knockout favourites Brazil! What a team they are!

Robin: The best penalty takers should take them first. The fact that Neymar was set to be the fifth taker is an absolute joke and a failure of Tite. Well done Croatia!
