Not much for Kylian Mbappe to work with so far.

He's only had three touches - the least of any France player - and played the least number of passes.

His heatmap above shows how little he's been involved.

It's just bobbling. Again, France gave the ball away. It was a lovely cut back from Messi. Di Maria was really concentrating to try and bring it down but he couldn't quite make it happen.

France have not got going yet at all.

Ousmane Dembele tries to change that but his cross from the right is blocked.

Lionel Messi just nodded to Rodrigo de Paul as though to say, 'good run amigo'.

The Atletico Madrid midfielder gave a thumbs up in return.

    A brilliant start from Argentina.

It feels like just being a matter of time before they break the deadlock here.

France just look a bit sluggish in this game. The touch isn't quite there and no doubt they will work their way into this game but it has been a slow start from them.

    Ohhhh, skied it!

France give the ball away and Argentina are in in a flash.

Rodrigo de Paul is found in the box but his low ball is bobbling. Angel di Maria meets it and punts it way over the crossbar.

Argentina look busier and sharper on the ball. They haven't really created that big chance yet but you can feel it coming.

It is really hard not to be drawn to the stars when watching the game. It seems to be the same for those in the crowd, who rise from their seat and roar whenever either Messi or Mbappe receive the ball. Not many chances to do that, though, so far.

Not seen much of Lionel Messi either, Dawksey.

    Until then.

The little magician ambles around the pitch for the most part but then he brings the place alive when the ball reaches that magical left boot.

First sighting of Mbappe, he looks sharp but he just couldn't quite get the ball back from Rabiot. He has been starved in this game so far, he will have his moment, I'm sure.

Angel di Maria is bang in the thick of this.

He is found again on the left and feeds the ball to Lionel Messi.

The return ball is cut out, though. Just.

Kylian Mbappe tries to play a one-two with Adrien Rabiot but he can't get on to the return pass. Argentina clear.

Di Maria is high and wide on the left and Argentina are looking for him early.

They've done well getting bodies around him.

That'll be one that surely comes up in training back at Spurs. "So yeah, remember when you tried to knack me in the World Cup final..."

Angel di Maria has been heavily involved so far for Argentina so it's no surprise to see most of the action has been down his left-hand side.

He's already had two touches in the opposition box after cutting inside and only Alexis MacAllister, Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul have had more touches.
