Very much an end-to-end game. As soon as either team get into the other's attacking third they look threatening. Both keepers have been forced into early saves.

Viktor Tsyhankov tests Wayne Hennessey from distance, and why not on this surface, but the Welsh keeper turns the ball around the post for a corner.

  7. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Wales 0-0 Ukraine

The corner comes to nothing and Ukraine clear their lines.

Ukraine goalkeeper Heorhiy Bushchan, who looked a little suspect against Scotland, did not look convincing though as he swiped at the cross.

Former Reading and Wales manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

There is a going to be a high percentage of this game where Wales will not have the football and are going to have to defend really well.

We have to make good decisions to come out in the press, win it and counter-attack. That is what we have been about for many months.

    Wales 0-0 Ukraine

Wales have finally got their foot on the ball and Dan James has whipped a few balls into the Ukraine box.

Ben Davies then attempts a long-range effort which deflects behind for the game's first corner.

It's an old school rule, you have to play to the whistle!

It's shaken Wales up though, they'll have to keep on their toes.

Wales need to sharpen up a bit. Ukraine have started well, physically and mentally.

  12. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 3 mins

Wales' Joe Allen and Daniel James have picked up early bookings, and from a free-kick Oleksandr Zinchenko put the ball in the net.

But he took the free-kick too quickly.

Hearts in mouth moment for Wales.

I've been reporting on Welsh football for 30 odd years and I cannot remember, ever, an atmosphere quite like the one generated here.

We have changed a few things tonight, we've got our front three on there and hopefully we are going to be really aggressive and when we get the ball, let's go forward quickly, let's work to our strengths.

That strong home record gives Wales a great chance, but when that first whistle goes it means nothing.

They have to do what they have done in all those previous performances, they have to show endeavour and hard work.

Then you just need that bit of quality from the forward players to score the goals.

Make no mistake, though, this will be a really hard game.

Wales midfielder David Brooks, who is now cancer free after being diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma in October, is at the match this afternoon.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "It is such an important game, it's a game that any player wants to be involved in.

"I'd love to play in a game like this.

"It's miles worse watching instead of playing, when you're on the pitch it's quite natural, when you're in the stands it's hard."

There is probably enough hype surrounding this game already, but we thought we would put this video together anyway.

If nervous Wales fans are looking for some reassurance, a look at their team's home record might do the trick.

Wales are unbeaten in their last 18 home matches in all competitions (winning 12 and drawing six), their longest unbeaten run on home soil in their history.

They have only conceded seven goals in these 18 games and never more than once in this run, including 11 clean sheets.
