LaLiga champions Real Madrid’s five-game winning league run was halted in a 1-0 derby defeat at Atletico.

Real wrapped up their 35th Spanish title last month, but were unable to follow up their stunning midweek Champions League win against Manchester City with another victory.

Atletico’s Yannick Carrasco struck the only goal from the penalty spot in the 40th minute after Jesus Vallejo had fouled Marcos Llorente.

  3. Levante relegated if they losepublished at 20:27 British Summer Time 12 May 2022

This is how it stands at both ends of La Liga. Real are champions, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also heading for the Champions League next season, with the final place a city shootout between rivals Sevilla and Real Betis.

If Levante lose they're down. Even a draw won't help too much as their goal difference is far adrift of Cadiz in 17th.
