Northampton have lost the game but the way they were walking off the pitch it looked like they had won the game.

They saw enough to see that they can trouble the Stags.

But it's a good result for Mansfield because they're a goal up.

Brilliant result for Mansfield, although you have to question their performance in the second half.

If you had said before the game that they would win 2-1 they would have taken it.

Mansfield were dominant in the first half, Northampton were dominant in the second.

It's set up nicely for the second leg on Wednesday.

    Advantage Mansfield. Just.

A game of two halves this.

Mansfield dominated the opening 45 minutes and took a 2-0 lead into the break thanks to goals from Rhys Oates and Jordan Bowery.

The Cobblers grew into it after the interval and deservedly pulled one back through Ali Koiki's deflected strike.

All to play for in the second leg on Wednesday.

The Cobblers have a corner and there's so much grappling going on in the area it's like a WWE match.

The referee decides to just give a free-kick to the home side.

    Time for a late twist?

Mitch Pinnock has gone for goal from a free-kick that must be 35 yards out at least.

Can't imagine the Northampton defenders who came up from the back appreciated watch that fly over their heads and into the stand.

The mentality of the Mansfield players at the moment is defend what they've got. If they end up going to Sixfields with a one-goal advantage then so be it.

Tempers are flaring a little bit.

Oli Hawkins jumps out from defence and hacks down Danny Rose for a Northampton free-kick.

    Last Mansfield change.

Sam Hoskins sends in a corner for the Cobblers and Joe Mills heads wide.

He was unmarked at the back post and got up really well. Probably should have at least got it on target.

Mansfield think they should have a corner but no dice.

They've had next to none of the play for the past half an hour.

Mansfield are hanging on. They need a foothold in the game.

At the minute it's chance after chance for Northampton.

The away side are really pressing now.

Mitch Pinnock's long throw causes more panic in the Stags defence and Sam Hoskins sees an effort blocked.

Josh Eppiah then smashes an effort across the face of goal and Stephen McLaughlin deflects it over his own bar.

Fraser Horsfall then heads wide from the corner under pressure.

We've seen two sides of Northampton. In the first half Mansfield were by far the better team but in the second half Northampton have been much more on the front foot.

Mansfield will want an advantage to take to Northampton on Wednesday.

    Mansfield 2-1 Northampton

The away fans are in full voice now as their side look to find an equaliser.

The Cobblers have been much the better side since the break and you wouldn't back against them finding a second here.

Forward Louis Appere, who was on the receiving end of a meaty challenge from Oli Hawkins a few moments ago, is off and former Mansfield man Danny Rose is on.
