  2. 'A bigger achievement than winning the cups' - Davidsonpublished at 22:14 British Summer Time 23 May 2022

FT: St Johnstone 4-0 Inverness CT (6-2)

St Johnstone boss Callum Davidson tells BBC Sportsound: "It's relief more than anything else. It is a fantastic achievement from the players and the supporters have been phenomenal for us.

"We were in a really dark place in November-December and we have been fighting like mad to stay in this league so credit to everyone involved, the chairman, backroom staff, everyone.

"This may sound stupid, but for me, this is a bigger achievement that winning the cups because mentally it is really difficult.

"It's easy when you're winning games, but mentally tough when you are losing games, players getting injured and challenging situations.

"We don't want to be fighting at the bottom, we want to be top six."

  5. 'I'm proud but disappointed' - Doddspublished at 22:09 British Summer Time 23 May 2022

FT: St Johnstone 4-0 Inverness CT (6-2)

Inverness boss Billy Dodds tells BBC Sportsound: "I'm proud and disappointed. Proud of the players for the season, disappointed the way it has turned out.

"I'm not saying we dominated the first half but we had them where we wanted them and put the pressure on them. 4-0 was harsh on my boys.

"When they got their chances, they took them. When we had our chances, we missed them.

"It wasn't the fitness tonight, more naivety. But we will learn from that for next season. I wanted to make history and be the first team to be promoted over the six games, but we just fell short."

  7. 'Our class showed' - Rooneypublished at 22:01 British Summer Time 23 May 2022

St Johnstone 4-0 Inverness CT (6-2)

St Johnstone defender Shaun Rooney tells BBC Sportsound: "From the first leg there was a bit of frustration that we lost two goals. Tonight our class showed.

"It is a good finish, I will give myself credit. I used to be a striker so maybe more to come.

"I was calm coming into this one, I said to some of the boys on the way up if we played the same as we did on Friday we should coast it.

"We don't want to be a Championship club, this club should be in the Premiership and credit to the fans. They have been here all season and it is us who haven't always turned up."

  8. Broadfoot confirms he's leaving Invernesspublished at 21:57 British Summer Time 23 May 2022

FT: St Johnstone 4-0 Inverness CT (6-2)

Inverness defender Kirk Broadfoot tells BBC Sportsound: "It is obviously hard to take. I think you would say for 60 minutes of the first leg, St Johnstone were the better side.

"But we got ourselves back into it. Tonight, I think for the first half, we were the better side.

"We came out in the second half and goals change games unfortunately. No one has done it [been promoted after finishing third or fourth] - but we fancied ourselves. It's a tough ask for six games in 21 games.

"My time at Inverness has come to an end, I will be moving on and if I do keep playing, hopefully it'll be more local."

What an unbelievable finish from Callum Hendry. He looks as if he is playing in the park with a group of his mates, not in a situation to keep his team in the Premiership. He jogs towards the goalkeeper, waits for Ridgers to go down and it is a beautiful little dink of a finish.
