Sunderland have won two of their three games since Tony Mowbray arrived as manager to replace Alex Neil.

It's been a highly promising start on their return to the Championship following promotion and they currently sit in the playoff places.

Today they travel to Watford who also changed divisions last season after being relegated from the Premier League, with the Hornets sitting a few places but only one point back on the Black Cats.

Rob Edwards' side are not in great form with only one win in their last seven, but they are strong at home in the league so far this campaign, winning three out of their four games at Vicarage Road.

  2. In-form Norwich face struggling Baggiespublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

West Brom have had a disappointing start to the season and it doesn't get any easier for them today as they face an in-form Norwich.

Steve Bruce's Baggies have won only once this season and dropped to 21st in the table following a 3-2 home defeat against Birmingham in midweek.

In contrast, Dean Smith's Canaries quickly got over a few early season wobbles to win their last six league games in a row.

That run has taken them up to second and the Baggies will have to keep a close eye on strikers Josh Sargent - who has six goals in his last six games - and of course Teemu Pukki.

  3. Blades setting the pacepublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

The Blades are setting the pace in the early stages of the Championship campaign.

They've won six of their opening nine games, but Norwich's superb form means they're only a point ahead of the Canaries.

Preston’s nine league games have seen just five goals scored so far this season (three scored and two conceded) with no team scoring more than once in any of their games.

Sheffield United have only conceded five themselves and have scored 17 - the second highest after Bristol City.

  4. Tributes to the Queenpublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

Moving tributes to Queen Elizabeth II were made when the EFL returned in midweek following a break last weekend after the death of the UK's longest reigning monarch.

There will be more today as clubs up and down the country pay their respects ahead of the Queen's funeral on Monday.

Her Majesty's face adorns the covers of club programmes and we expect silences to be observed and the national anthem to be played around the grounds.
