    Burnley 3-1 Blackpool

Blackpool making a bit of early running in the second half, as Jerry Yates and Jordan Gabriel both cannot find the back of the net, while Josh Bowler's free-kick deflects away without truly troubling Anijanet Maric.

  2. Swansea searching for inspirationpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

    Swansea 0-1 Luton

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium

If this second half follows a similar pattern to the first, Nathan Jones and Luton will soon be celebrating a first win of the season.

The first half was painful for Swansea, who had plenty of possession - as usual - but offered little attacking threat.

With precious few options in what is a thin squad, Russell Martin's attempt to change things at half-time has seen Kyle Naughton come on as part of a switch in system.

What Swansea are really crying out for is some inspiration in the final third.

    Reading 1-0 Middlesbrough

Reading come close to a second, as Andy Yiadom zips a ball in but veteran Shane Long can't meet it.

The Royals have won both home games so far this season and the record is continuing as it stands.

Plenty of time to go though.

    That's half-time across the leagues.

Let's take a quick look at what the first 45 minutes have brought us shall we?

  12. 'Such a bad goal to concede'published at 15:51 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

    HT: Stoke 0-1 Sunderland

    Nigel Johnson
Stoke City Commentator, BBC Radio Stoke

Totally against the run of play. Stoke have been in charge this first half.

A little ball over the top for Ross Stewart to get on the end of and push past the keeper who got a hand to it.

It's such a bad goal to concede it's ridiculous!

    QPR 1-1 Rotherham

QPR have their tails up now as we head into the break.

Some neat play ends with Lyndon Dykes' fine low shot drawing a decent save from Viktor Johansson in the Millers goal.

    Ross Stewart (45 mins)

    Sunderland scoreImage source, Rex Features

If you looked up 'suckerpunch' in the dictionary you wouldn't be surprised to see a pic of Ross Stewart scoring this latest goal for Sunderland.

Stoke have dominated, it's fair to say. Sunderland had barely landed a punch to borrow boxing parlance but having 'rope-a-dope'-d the Potters, they strike just before half-time.

It's a ball into the channels which Scotland striker Stewart eats for breakfast, and he kept his cool to breeze toward goal and finish beyond Josef Bursik.

    Stunning outcome.

No goals up on the hill by the A50 so far this afternoon, but it is Stoke who are starting to stretch the Sunderland defence.

Pressure on, but not too many concrete chances to mention.

I was just writing an entry about Hull hitting the crossbar and then bang, West Brom score.

A cross in from the right is turned into his own net by Callum Elder.

Just a few minutes before Oscar Estupinan had seen David Button turn his shot on to the bar.
