Brentford 2-0 Brighton
Brentford
Brentford boss Thomas Frank to BBC Sport: "Close to [a perfect response to their last loss]. We've been doing a lot of things right in the last three games but have been a little our of sync. We said we needed to do the basics right and win 50-50s and run like animals with heart throughout and win the set-piece battle and we did all three.
"Big determination and mentality from the players.
"I think if we have a good team we need a lot of good players. Sometimes the number one and nine need to step out and show quality. David and Ivan did that today. I'm happy for David as he was involved in a mistake last weekend. He showed what a quality keeper he is."
On Ivan Toney: "It [his first goal] shows what he is capable of. He needs fantastic anticipation of the situation and technique.
"I'm glad I said very early he is the best penalty taker in the world. I'm very happy for it. He's backing me up. The record looks past that I see coolness, technique and strategy."
On whether Toney would be in his World Cup squad if he was Gareth Southgate: "Yes he is. Gareth sees the big picture. It's up to him to choose but he has something special not many have."

Brentford manager Thomas Frank on Ivan Toney to Sky Sports: "I think he's getting closer and closer [to being alongside world-class strikers], that's for sure. I think you can see that his link-up play is so good, he can read the game very well. His technical ability to either flick or hold or set the ball is very good.
"I always say that if you want to create a top scorer then they need to be technically very good so the way he can connect with the ball, left-foot, right-foot, the free-kick against Leeds, the chip, he's so good technically. He's just got that character about him as well.
"He's one of the big leaders without a doubt. I have four captains and Ivan is a big driver also on the pitch, big demands to himself and his teammates but in that perfect balance where he's very competitive but with a big smile. Of course a lot of banter and joking but caring about his teammates."

Brentford
Brentford striker Ivan Toney talking to Sky Sports:
"I feel good, I feel ready to go. It was unfortunate not to get on for England and I have to keep going.
"I don’t expect Gareth Southgate to talk to me about it, I am a man now.
"I don't even know where I am going until I kick the ball for the penalties. The keeper tries to give it the talk but I just walk away, think of different things, like being on a beach with a cocktail.
"I decide where I go when I kick the ball literally. Wait for the keeper to move and put it in the other side of the goal. You are playing with the best of the best when training with England and I didn’t feel out of place. I feel ready to take my opportunity if I get it.
"I practice penalties in training every day, the goalkeeper must be sick of me.
"I see myself at the top, I see myself at the best player at the pitch. You have to have that mentality."

Brentford
Brentford striker Ivan Toney to BBC Sport: "I'm just trying to do the best I can for the team and if it's enough to get on the plane to the World Cup then so be it. All I can do is do my job and then hopefully it is enough. If I get to the World Cup then hopefully I'll get some minutes there."
On David Raya's performance: "I felt like he had four hands, the amount he saved. Everybody put in a great shift. Fully deserved the three points."
On the secret to his penalty-taking: "Just to compose yourself. I just relaxed and thought of something else."
According to Transfermarkt, Ivan Toney has scored 26 of his 27 penalties (including a reserve game).
He was denied by Adam Davies in a League One match in 2018 as his Peterborough side lost 4-0 to Barnsley.
The striker has scored spot-kicks for Newcastle U21s, Shrewsbury, Peterborough and Brentford

Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi to BBC Sport: "To win a game you have to score. We shot 21 times. We don't find the goals. We lose too many second balls, too many duels. After this I think we played a good game.
"The Brentford goalkeeper played very well. But we made mistakes about shooting, about the last pass, about crosses. But this is the right way for us, for our players. We have to do more. We have to improve, to learn, to understand."
On tributes to Enock Mwepu: "We wanted to win the game for him. We're sorry for this. We'll try to win the game against Nottingham on Tuesday."
Brentford 2-0 Brighton
Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi to Sky Sports: "I think to win the game you have to score. We had 21 shots on the goal but we have not found the goals. We lost the second ball too many times.
"About the game I think we played a good game but if you want to win you have to score. I can't say anything more.
"We have had a lot of potential chances but many shots on the goal and we didn't find the goal. The time, the last pass, the crosses, we made mistakes."
On the importance of Brentford's penalty: "It was a crucial moment but I had belief until the end of the game because one goal could have opened the game again."
On his clash with Thomas Frank: "No problem [between us]. I don't like when the other coach touches my player and when another coach speaks with my player because I never spoke with the other player from the other team."

Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton defender Joel Veltman to Sky Sports: "We didn't play bad even though we lost 2-0. Details. Their keeper had an amazing day. Sometimes you have to accept that. They scored twice. That was the difference.
"We knew it would be a more fighting game than nice football here. We fought well. Our fighting spirit was there. We could do more with second balls.
"A draw [would have been] fair enough."
