Aston Villa head coach Carla Ward on competing with Chelsea: "I think we gave them a game for 90 minutes. There was a lot of thought about us coming here and parking the bus, we didn’t want to do that. The difficulty is we’ve played some good stuff at times but two individual errors have cost us."

On goalkeeper Hannah Hampton being absent: "Hannah was available. Something happened yesterday and we decided it was in the best interests of the team for her to stay at home so I did exactly that."

If Man Utd were to hurt this Everton team, it would come from the wide areas. It is all about the switch play. Once you get Galton on the ball running at the back line, she's dangerous.

She drives towards goal. I like the shimmy and then a toe poke. Gives the goalkeeper no chance to set her feet. Everton have to be disappointed with their defending because none of the defenders has attempted to take the ball off her.

    Everton

Everton head coach Brian Sorensen speaking to BBC One: "I wasn't happy with it. We showed in small patches on what we can do. But we need to put more than 25 minutes of good football to be a strong team like Manchester United. It's probably where we are right now. We need to still learn and players needs to learn from each other when we get into bad periods and how we stay on top of that. I think performance-wise, we can do better."

I thought Man Utd dominated the game from the start and they got their goal in the first half which settled the nerve a little bit. I know we talk a lot in games about strikers and how exciting they are.

We highlighted Ella Toone but Mary Earps in this team - the confidence that Mary's had since the Euros and been an England number one, she's really brought into this Man Utd team. In terms of the way Man Utd play and like to play out, she starts all the attacks.

She is so composed, like an outfield player but relaxes her team. She is a big personality and character within this team and played a big role as to how United started this season.
