    Swansea 0-0 Hull

A first chance in quite a while for the visitors.

Swansea let Lewis Coyle waltz through their defence and his shot is dragged just wide.

The Swansea bench were really unhappy with the defending.

  2. Swans to rue missed chances?published at 21 mins

Russell Martin may already be wondering whether his team will end the day ruing missed chances.

Swansea City have taken control against a lacklustre Hull - but have failed to take advantage of three golden opportunities to open the scoring.

Joel Piroe has hit the woodwork and shot wide, while Ollie Cooper's effort was well saved.

Swansea must be better in the final third. Hull need to improve all across the pitch.

It could be 3-0, it should be 1-0.

Swans have got to put that to the back of their heads, keep moving the ball with pace, lots of energy and more chances will come.

    Swansea 0-0 Hull

Oscar Estupinan, the top scorer in the Championship, has barely had a sniff of goal so far.

  5. CLOSE!published at 16 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Hull

It's all Swansea and OIi Cooper is the latest to find space in the box, but Nathan Baxter gets down well to save.

    It could already be 3-0.

Hull are offering very little at this stage.

You feel there is something in this for Swansea today.

Jay Fulton's effort is wide. He has to stretch too much to be able to control the ball.

Sometimes as a striker when you miss a couple of chances early on you feel like you owe your team and the fans a goal.

So I expect a good game from Joel Piroe today.

    Sustained Swansea pressure.

  10. CLOSE!published at 6 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Hull

Another huge chance comes and goes for Joel Piroe.

Kyle Naughton finds him with a ball over the top, but Piroe can't find the target.

Evident already why Hull are averaging two goals against per game.

It was a delicious ball from Ryan Manning and a brilliant effort from Joel Piroe.

So unlucky as it comes off the top off the crossbar.

    Fantastic first move for Swansea.

  12. CLOSE!published at 4 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Hull

    So so close.

Nice build-up play from Swansea and Ryan Manning picks out Joel Piroe perfectly, but his shot smashes against the crossbar.

    What a chance.

They're a big side Hull, some big lads there.

So they'll cause all sorts of problems at set pieces I'm sure.

  14. CLOSE!published at 2 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Hull

Both sides lining up as you'd expect.

Hull still in a 4-3-3 formation.

And a first chance for the visitors as Jean Michael Seri shoots from range and Steven Benda tips over.

Swansea City v Hull City (12:30 BST)

    Gareth Vincent

Today's contest sees a team who have been struggling home take on a side who are yet to win on the road in 2022-23.

Swansea City have registered only one victory in their five games on this ground to date this season, and ended the last campaign with a four-game winless streak on their own patch.

Hull City, meanwhile, have not celebrated an away triumph since winning at Middlesbrough on 9 April.

With Swansea in the relegation places and Hull 17th after three straight losses, both teams could do with changing the record this afternoon.

Swansea have got to be at it today, they've got to put in a good performance.

I don't care who comes to this ground in the Championship, it doesn't matter who comes here, you've always got to expect to win.

  18. Stats not very encouraging for either Swansea or Hullpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

Swansea City v Hull City (12:30 BST)

The stats don't make very encouraging reading for fans of either side.

    ● Swansea City have won one of their last eight league games against Hull City (D3 L4), a 2-1 home win in August 2019.

    ● Hull have won just two of their last 19 league visits to Swansea (D8 L9), winning 3-2 in April 2004 in the fourth tier and 2-0 in August 2016 in the Premier League.

    ● Swansea have won just one of their last nine home league games.

    ● Hull City have taken just two points from their last six away Championship matches since winning back-to-back away games against Coventry and Middlesbrough.

    ● Joël Piroe has scored each of Swansea’s last three goals in the Championship. Since the start of last season the Dutchman has been involved in almost half of the Swans’ 65 league goals (25 goals, six assists).

  19. Three defeats on the bounce for Tigerspublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

Swansea City v Hull City (12:30 BST)

It was also a weekend to forget for Hull City, who suffered a third successive defeat as Lewis Baker scored twice to give Alex Neil a first win as Stoke City boss.

Stoke's first two goals came from free-kicks, the first from Baker took a wicked deflection to wrongfoot Matt Ingram before former Swansea defender Ben Wilmot headed home a second.

Baker sealed the victory in the second half, firing in from near the edge of the penalty area.

  20. Another late goal costs Swanseapublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

Swansea City v Hull City (12:30 BST)

I mentioned Swansea's tendency to concede late goals, and last time out against Sheffield United was no exception.

The Swans had their chances in the game, but Blades substitute Reda Khadra scored a 94th minute winner for Paul Heckingbottom's side.

The result leaves Swansea in the Championship bottom three going into this afternoon's game.
