    Robert Lewandowski only scored the 57 goals last season, with 50 of those coming in 46 games for Bayern Munich.

    He wins the best striker award for he second season in a row.

    Lewandowski picked it up when it was presented for the first time after breaking the Bundesliga scoring record for a single season, previously held by German great Gerd Muller, with 41 goals.

    Barcelona's Alexia Putellas has now won this award in consecutive years.

    She has a huge smile on her face as she collects the trophy and says, "without my team-mates this would not have been possible. I want to thank the staff and the coach and everyone involved at Barcelona.

    "I'm very happy to be back here and pleased because a year ago I was able to win this prize and it pushed me to want to be even better."

    Putellas was the top scorer as Barca reached the Women's Champions League final but is currently recovering from a serious knee injury.

    Andriy Shevchenko is invited up on stage to present the women's Ballon d'Or prize by his former Chelsea team-mate Didier Drogba and looks emotional when asked about the war in his homeland Ukraine.

    "It has been a very difficult moment since the war started," Shevchenko says

    "I am so proud with how my country defend and fight for their freedom.

    "It is very important to remember the war is still going but most important to stay behind Ukraine and help."

    England stars Harry Kane, Phil Foden and Trent Alexander-Arnold have all been voted in the top 25 of the Ballon d'Or.

    Three Lions captain Kane is the highest English player on the men's list at 21, with his international colleagues just behind him, joint-ranked at 22.

    Kane has already scored nine goals this season for Tottenham and could become England's record goalscorer in Qatar at the World Cup.
