That's as far as we go here tonight and that's the end of a hectic couple of days of EFL football.

There is, I'm sorry to report, NO EFL football at all tomorrow but fear not, it's back with a vengeance on Thursday (for those of you who have lost track of what day it is, that's the day after tomorrow).

We'll be back with you from 17:45 GMT then for a bumper live text and we hope you can join us then.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

    Cheers!

It was another dominant home display from the table-topping Clarets, at both ends of the pitch.

Three goals from just four shots on target tells you how clinical they are at the moment and, at the back, they reduced Blues to (at best) half chances.

If they can keep that up until May they'll end the season where they are right now.

    Top.

The place is bouncing as Burnley go into two tricky away games with an abundance of confidence.

It must be a great place to be, in that dressing room.

    It's a very merry Christmas.

Championship leaders Burnley go 11 points clear of third-placed Blackburn.

The home side raced into a first-minute lead through a goal from the returning Anass Zaroury and never really looked back.

Connor Roberts made it 2-0 just before the break and Natahn Tella rounded off the win with a breakaway third in the final minute of time added on at the end of the match.

Birmingham competed well throughout but, like a lot of teams this season, just found Burnley too hot to handle.

Vincent Kompany's men look like making an immediate return to the Premier League.

What a great goal that is.

Nathan Tella lets it run across his body and it's all about that first touch - he takes it across the Birmingham defender and slots it nicely into the bottom corner.

    Composure.

    Game, set and match.

It had been coming for a little while and now Burnley have the goal the third goal their dominance merits.

Sub Nathan Tella races away from the halfway line and slides a cool finish into the back of the net.

They scored in the first minute and they've scored in the last one too.

It's a tight turnaround for both of these sides now as they're back in action on Friday evening.

There is a bit of a resigned sound coming from the away end.

For once the usually noisy Birmingham City following have been all but silenced by Burnley's brilliance.

They have at least managed to rework one of their songs about what they think about teams wearing claret and blue, usually reserved for games with Aston Villa, in honour of their hosts.

But even a burst of their club anthem 'Keep Right On To The End Of The Road' sounded a bit tired and laboured just now. And it is a very cold night!

    Birmingham are still fighting here.

A long throw eventually comes to Troy Deeney at the back stick and his shot is blocked by Taylor Harwood-Bellis.

A goal for the away side in the next few minutes would set up an exciting finale.

    Chances for the home side!

Jay Rodriguez nearly scores with a brilliant opportunistic strike.

Anass Zaroury comes in off the left and swings a cross in that takes a big deflection and Rodriguez tries to convert with a backheel but it's straight at John Ruddy in the Blues goal.

Moments later, Josh Cullen is in down the right but hammers a shot into the stand.

    Now then.

Hannibal Mejbri should probably be off here.

The Blues midfielder was booked in the first half and he slides into a challenge with Manuel Benson.

He maybe does get the ball but his studs are showing.
