    Gillingham 0-1 Leicester

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC One

This time Iheanacho is frustrated. Vardy should have just put a bit of an angle on it and Iheanacho would have walked it into the net.

A better placed pass, couple of yards and that would have been game over for Gillingham.

    Tottenham 1-0 Portsmouth

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Red Button

Portsmouth's set-pieces haven't been good enough, we haven't seen enough crosses into the box.

Defending set-pieces hasn't been one of Tottenham's strengths this season but they haven't really been tested enough.

  3. VAR

Video Assistant Refereepublished at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2023

    Crystal Palace 1-2 Southampton

The tech lads take a look at the foul on Zaha but don't see enough to over-turn their on-field colleague's decision. Needless to say the Palace players and fans are not happy. They were adamant that should have been a spot-kick.

  4. Postpublished at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2023

    Gillingham 0-1 Leicester

What a noise! Gillingham win their first corner but it's cleared and Leicester counter. Jamie Vardy is unmarked on the edge of the box but is quickly closed down and forced back.

  5. Postpublished at 14:09 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2023

    Crystal Palace 1-2 Southampton

Massive shouts for a penalty to the home side!

Wilfried Zaha gets in behind Lyanco on the left and then goes down before he can get a shot or cross in.

It is not a penalty according to the on-field referee, but there is a bit of contact. Enough for the VAR officials to over-rule it?

  6. Postpublished at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2023

    Tottenham 1-0 Portsmouth

Just over 10 minutes to go. Portsmouth win a corner and the away fans find their voice once more.

They can't make anything of it, though, and they have to recover quickly to prevent Spurs landing a knockout blow on the counter.

  7. Postpublished at 14:07 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2023

    Gillingham 0-1 Leicester

Gillingham have made it difficult for Leicester but the Premier League club are in control. Jamie Vardy fizzes it across the six yard area but there is no team-mate there to double the lead.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:06 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2023

    Tottenham 1-0 Portsmouth

Tottenham make a change now too.

Djed Spence is sent on by Antonio Conte to cheers from the home crowd. Ryan Sessegnon makes way.

In contrast, Burnley travel to the south coast in fine form having won 11 of their previous 13 fixtures in all competitions. Chance of an upset?

There's certainly plenty for the Gillingham fans to be positive about. A goal for Gillingham now would absolutely light this place up.

    Tottenham 1-0 Portsmouth

Louis Thompson has barely on been on the pitch two minutes but he's already in the referee's book as he flies into a challenge. Just a little bit too excited there.

Meanwhile Reading are still holding on, 1-0 up against Watford. The Royals have just brought on Andy Carroll.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:03 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2023

    Tottenham 1-0 Portsmouth

It's a double change for Portsmouth.

Louis Thompson makes his return from a fractured leg, and Josh Koroma also joins the action.

Reeco Hackett-Fairchild and Ryan Tunnicliffe make way.

  15. Postpublished at 14:03 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2023

    Crystal Palace 1-2 Southampton

Jeffrey Schlupp and Eberechi Eze are on for Palace. It is clear by the initial team selection and this reaction to being behind that Patrick Vieira wants to very much stay in this competition.

  16. Postpublished at 14:02 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2023

    Gillingham 0-1 Leicester

Around 20 minutes for Gillingham to find an equaliser. They're certainly not out of this but Leicester are moving the ball around a lot quicker and have been transformed by the goal.

  17. Postpublished at 14:02 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2023

    Tottenham 1-0 Portsmouth

Bryan Gil begins one of those exciting runs inside but by the time he can get a shot away he's closed down by several blue shirts.

Portsmouth continue to work hard as a unit under pressure but how long can they keep this up for? Simon Bassey is preparing to send on some fresh legs.

  18. Postpublished at 14:02 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2023

    Crystal Palace 1-2 Southampton

There's just under 20 minutes to go here.

It wouldn't give Southampton three precious league points, but this is still a big win for Nathan Jones and his team. They desperately need a reason to believe they can compete.

  19. Postpublished at 14:00 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2023

    Crystal Palace 1-2 Southampton

This game has flipped completely on its head now.

In the first half, it was Southampton looking ragged and bereft of ideas. Now Palace are the team hanging on in the face of a buoyant opponent.

  20. Postpublished at 13:59 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2023

    Gillingham 0-1 Leicester

    Don Hutchison
Ex-Liverpool midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Brilliant from Jamie Vardy. Gillingham's back line are struggling and once you let that ball bounce you're in trouble. It's a great save and strong hand from Turner.
