  3. 'Excited for Arsenal to face Man City'

    FT: Oxford United 0-3 Arsenal

    ITV

Former Arsenal player Karen Carney, speaking on ITV, about Arsenal facing Manchester City in the next round: "I am actually excited for Arsenal to play Manchester City.

"They've done really well this season and now I am like "go on, this is a test for you". This is where we'll see what they are made of and it'll be good.

"I think with the feel-good factor Arsenal won't be afraid. Maybe 18-24 months ago they would have been, but they'll just go there and express themselves. They won't fear anyone. Whether they will win is a different matter, but they will go and impose themselves."

Eddie Nketiah celebrates scoring for Arsenal against Oxford United in the FA Cup third round

Arsenal set up an FA Cup fourth-round tie at Manchester City after making their class tell to overcome League One Oxford United at Kassam Stadium.

Mikel Arteta's Premier League leaders were frustrated in the first half by a well-organised and disciplined Oxford side before eventually overpowering their opponents.

Fabio Vieira was Arsenal's creator-in-chief, sending in a perfect free-kick for Mohamed Elneny to head past Oxford goalkeeper Eddie McGinty in the 63rd minute before playing a perfect pass for Eddie Nketiah to finish calmly finish seven minutes later.

Oxford, who had battled so hard, were now struggling to cope with Arsenal's attacking threat and Nketiah was on the mark again after 76 minutes with a delicate chip over McGinty from Gabriel Martinelli's pass to confirm that powerhouse meeting with City at Etihad Stadium.

Read the report as Arsenal cruise past Oxford United.

  5. 'Arsenal will want to impose themselves at Man City'

    FT: Oxford United 0-3 Arsenal

    ITV

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright, speaking on ITV, about Arsenal facing Manchester City in the next round: "It is interesting that Eddie Nketiah said they were up for it. It's not a good draw having to play Manchester City. I'm sure they'll feel the same.

"You want to get easier draws to the latter stages and then play the tougher teams in the semi-finals. You've just got to play the next round though."

Is there a lot riding on that game?: "To a certain extent. But you want to play in that game and you want to impose yourselves on it so they can see you're coming, you're there and you're there for the long haul. I'd like to think that City can't beat Arsenal the way they did Chelsea with the way they are playing at the moment but, at the same time, we know what City are capable of. Those are the games where you see what you're capable of and what you have to fight off."

  6. 'We had to be patient'

    FT: Oxford United 0-3 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to ITV Sport: "It is always tough to win in this round. You have to be patient and we were patient and found the right openings.

On Viera: "He has the quality. He is a really creative player and he can decide games in the final third. He made a difference.

"The contribution of the subs was important as well to change the dynamic of the game,"

On Nketiah: "It is what we want from every player. I am delighted. You have to be scoring goals and he is doing it."

On Saka possible injury: "He is fine."

On facing Manchester City in the next round: "We go game by game. We next focus on Tottenham."

  8. 'We fought in all areas'

    FT: Oxford United 0-3 Arsenal

Oxford United boss Karl Robinson, speaking to ITV Sport: "We lost control of the game in the central part of the second half.

"Question mark on if it was a free kick or not [for the first goal]. But the ball in is the reason why they are Premier League players.

"From my point of view the players did the club proud. We fought in all areas. They didn't look like a team so far part to the other team.

"We have good players, it is the first time I have had probably my strongest team to compete. We have a good squad, a good team - one that is full of energy and exciting to watch."

  9. Pundits on Nketiah

    FT: Oxford United 0-3 Arsenal

    ITV

Karen Carney: "There is no more clinical finisher at Arsenal."

Ian Wright: "This is why they gave him the new contract. They know what he is capable of. It is sad to lose Gabriel Jesus but Eddie [Nketiah] has taken his chance. We know what he's capable of in the box. He's filled the gap for now. You just want the momentum from this win and those goals to keep him going."

  10. 'We had to stay patient'

    FT: Oxford United 0-3 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal's Eddie Nketiah, speaking to ITV Sport: "We knew it would not be easy. It is a tough ground, good crowd and a tough pitch to play on. We had to stay patient, we had to up the level as it wasn't good enough from us in the first half and I think we did that in the second.

"It was nice. I took the first one nice and the second was a nice little dink so I will probably enjoy that more.

"Every player wants to play whatever the competition. I am grateful for the opportunities and I just want to keep working and keep helping the team."

On facing Man City next in the FA Cup: "We are up for it. We will recover, focus on Tottenham first and after that look to the next games."

  11. 'Vieira's cross was perfection'

    FT: Oxford United 0-3 Arsenal

    ITV

Former Arsenal and England player Karen Carney, speaking on ITV, about Fabio Vieira's cross for the opening goal: "The delivery in phenomenal. Every defender is petrified of that. You've just got to your head on that. It's horrible because you the keeper can't come out. You can practice that all day and it won't get better than that. It's perfection."
