  1. goal

GOAL - Aston Villa 2-1 Leicesterpublished at 15:32 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2023

    Harry Souttar own goal

Villa go back ahead and it is an own goal on debut from the unfortunate Harry Souttar.

Lucas Digne's low ball into the box from the left finds Ollie Watkins, who turns and fires a low ball across that takes a big hit off Souttar's leg and finds the net.

Villa had been threatening it after having their early momentum checked by that Leicester leveller.

    Man Utd 1-0 Crystal Palace

Palace are easier on the eye under Patrick Vieira than they were under Roy Hodgson... but are they actually any better?

  3. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:31 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2023

    Aston Villa 1-1 Leicester

Emi Buendia is loving the woodwork today!

He hit the bar earlier bang before Watkins' opener and now he has clipped it again with a near-post header from a corner.

It's a great effort to steer the ball towards goal but he can't get it to dip fast enough.

Earth Posh: Time for manager change at the Kop, when the going gets tough this is when a leader steps up and takes charge, am not seeing Klopp stepping up.. just a wry smile at the end of every game...

Martin: Like I said before - Klopp you need those glasses back, they are your lucky charm.

Ciaran: A parting of the ways between Klopp and Liverpool at the end of this season looks increasingly likely. Sad to see this once great team collapse so quickly.

    Aston Villa 1-1 Leicester

And now a fine save from Danny Ward to deny Villa. The Foxes keeper gets down low to push away Leon Bailey's shot.

  6. Postpublished at 15:29 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2023

    Man Utd 1-0 Crystal Palace

The resulting corner is headed away to Antony, who dummies and shoots from 20 yards but it's straight at Vicente Guaita.

  7. Postpublished at 15:29 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2023

    Wolves 2-0 Liverpool

Craig Dawson is unmarked again! The cross comes in from the right but this time he heads it way over.

Bruno Fernandes feeds the run of Marcus Rashford, whose shot is beaten away by Vicente Guaita at his near post.

    Brentford 0-0 Southampton

Che Adams battles well against Ethan Pinnock to retain possession for Southampton out wide.

Still goalless but we've had chances.

    Aston Villa 1-1 Leicester

Oh, Ollie Watkins! You have to score!

Emi Buendia fires a low cross that is perfectly-placed between the Leicester keeper and defence. It beats the former and leaves Watkins with a tap in to an empty net. He gets it all wrong, though, the ball hitting his back leg, and the chance is gone.

Nick: I’m not sure it’s that surprising that Wolves are winning. Much better midfield. Wolves are a good team that have been playing badly and now have a new manager and some good players brought in. Not too long back they were doing the double over City.

Erik ten Hag makes some notes on his pad. He has one of those pens you loved at school with the few colours in the one pen and you click between them.

  14. 'Kamara's costly mistake'published at 15:27 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2023

    Aston Villa 1-1 Leicester

    James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on Final Score

Villa managed to get themselves in front and then credit to Leicester. Villa tried to play out from a goal kick and Boubacar Kamara tried to dribble in his own box.

Leicester do really well to take it off Kamara and manage to get an equaliser.

What a start to the day!

  15. Postpublished at 15:27 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2023

    Brighton 0-0 Bournemouth

Do the Cherries have a shout for a penalty here?

Dango Ouattara goes down after a shove from Pervis Estupinan. There is contact, but I don't think enough to prompt VAR to over-rule the on-field official.

    Yep... no penalty.

  16. Postpublished at 15:26 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2023

    Wolves 2-0 Liverpool

Joel Matip is praying for half-time. He's having a shocker.

He loses it to Matheus Nunes, Alisson has to make a smart save and the rebound falls to Matheus Cunha, whose shot is deflected back into Alisson.

    Eeeek.

  17. Postpublished at 15:26 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2023

    Man Utd 1-0 Crystal Palace

It is all United really, 5-0 on shots, 68-32% possession.

However when these sides met a few weeks ago Bruno Fernandes gave United the lead and Palace ended up with a point.

  18. Postpublished at 15:24 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2023

    Brentford 0-0 Southampton

Oooh close again from Brentford. Bryan Mbuemo controls the ball in the box, takes a step back and half-volleys it towards the far corner.

It's a decent strike and it rolls just past the post. Gavin Bazunu was beaten.

  19. Postpublished at 15:24 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2023

    Brighton 0-0 Bournemouth

Hamed Traore causes more bother for Brighton with a cross that forces Robert Sanchez to come out and flap. Thankfully, he gets just enough on the ball to send it away from Antoine Semenyo.

  20. Postpublished at 15:23 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2023

    Man Utd 1-0 Crystal Palace

Actually a replay shows there was no contact between Chris Richards and Marcus Rashford there.
