    Everton 2-0 West Ham

Kirsty Smith has had the better of the Everton defence every time she's played a cross past them.

They've all been directed towards Viviane Asseyi but few have reached the French striker yet.

    Reading 0-0 Manchester United

    Helen Hardy
BBC Radio Manchester summariser at Select Car Leasing Stadium

Both sides are playing with high lines and there have already been a couple of offsides in the first couple of minutes of the half. Both teams are trying to force these offside traps, push up high and go for the attack.

Much, much better from West Ham in the opening moments. They're causing a few problems for Everton at the back.

They have a corner but can't make anything of it.

  4. CLOSE!published at 15:15 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2023

    Reading 0-0 Manchester United

First chance of the half for the visitors!

Parris' cross is met well by Garcia, who heads across goal but Alessia Russo can't stretch far enough to meet it,.

    Much better!

  5. Postpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2023

    Everton 2-0 West Ham

    Agonising for West Ham.

Kate Longhurst has the ball inside the box but directs her effort over the bar.

    That should've been a goal.

Feels like that break didn't come at a good time for Manchester United.

Disjointed start as Mary Earps makes a smart save from distance.

Everton are unbeaten in their last four Women's Super League matches when leading at half-time, winning three of those games as part of a sequence stretching back to 6 February 2022, when they lost 2-1 against Reading.

Will they keep up that record?

That will be a worrying sign for Paul Konchesky that his side were not switched on to that ball through to Jess Park. They started the game slow and the last thing he wants is a slow second half too!

Jackie Burns has been really confident with her posture, the way she has been standing and how she has been controlling this game so far.

There was this feeling when she stepped up - she was less nervous, thinking she was not expecting the ball to go back into the net. It wasn't an easy ball to save.

    Reading 0-0 Manchester United

    Helen Hardy
BBC Radio Manchester summariser at Select Car Leasing Stadium

Manchester United have been trying to get as wide as they possibly can, splitting the play and making some really lovely passes.

When it comes to the final third, Reading are just so rigid and staying really tight. It's really nice defending. All the players are behind the ball, but with a couple of outlets up front which makes it difficult for Man Utd.

Everton start on the front foot as Jess Park has an effort sent behind for a corner.

It eventually falls to Hanna Bennison, whose cross is collected by Mackenzie Arnold.

  16. 'Unacceptable'published at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2023

Liverpool's Megan Campbell is unimpressed by the postponement of her side's game at Chelsea earlier today and has echoed Blues boss Emma Hayes' remarks about a need for change.

Let's go back to reaction to the Chelsea postponement.

  18. Everton put down markerpublished at 14:56 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2023

    HT: Everton 2-0 West Ham

    Emma Sanders
BBC Sport at Walton Hall Park

It tailed off towards the end of the first half but Everton had arguably done the job early doors. They were clinical, intense and hungry from the first whistle, while West Ham took a while to find their feet. Blues goalkeeper Emily Ramsey has had a few problems from corners - largely through her own making - but other than that, West Ham haven’t created anything. I expected it to be a much closer contest so credit to Everton.

We've reached the break in both games. Everton lead 2-0 against West Ham at the break while Manchester United and Reading are level.

  20. Postpublished at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2023

    Everton 2-0 West Ham

Viviane Asseyi attempts an overhead kick but misses the ball and brings down an Everton player. What a goal that would've been.
