The Walsall players have clearly read the script. They come charging out of the blocks, furiously closing down the Leicester defence.

The crowd roars in approval and moments later optimistically appeal for a penalty after a tackle by Youri Tielemans.

Marching On Together blasts out at the away end. Leeds fans are in fine voice. The FA Cup trophy is actually on display at the Wham Stadium and receiving a lot of attention from the home fans.

League One Accrington only confirmed their place in the fourth round on Tuesday after a 1-0 replay win over non-league Boreham Wood.

Since then officials have been working flat out to prepare for the visit of Premier League Leeds to the Wham Stadium.

The tie is expected to earn Accrington £300,000 in TV revenue, ticket sales and sponsorship.

"It's season-changing," said managing director David Burgess.

A sell-out 5,000 crowd is expected and Burgess added: "We heard that Leeds sold their allocation of 2,600 in 40 minutes."

Leicester City

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers, speaking to the BBC: "We expect a really tough game. The mentality has to be right."

On James Maddison's return: "He probably won't get through the 90 minutes but we just need to get him out on the grass."

Great atmosphere at the Wham Stadium.

If they don't play Club Tropicana when the teams come out then what are we even doing here.

Leeds United

Jesse Marsch says he wants "to be a winner" but that it is "too early" to talk about his Leeds team winning a trophy this season.

After needing a replay to get through the previous round against Cardiff, the American's side face League One Accrington Stanley hoping to avoid an upset.

Having won silverware as a player in the MLS and manager in Austria, Marsch said: "You do this job to win trophies and I've been lucky enough to be part of teams that have done that.

"It's because I've always taken it very seriously. I've always known it's an opportunity for glory."

Leeds' only FA Cup final triumph came in in 1972 and Marsch feels there is still a long way to go before they can talk about repeating that success.

There's a familiar face at Walsall today.

Dean Smith, the former Aston Villa and Norwich boss, played for and managed the Saddlers. He's back at the ground supporting his former side.

Leicester City

Leicester have won eight of their last nine games in the FA Cup and boss Brendan Rodgers says reaching the final is a key objective.

"Every year, we’ve looked to be serious about the FA Cup. The objective is to get to a final and this is no different," added Rodgers, who masterminded the Foxes' 2020-21 triumph in the competition.

On facing Walsall, Rodgers said: "First and foremost you have to do all the dirty stuff well in the game. Just because you’re a Premier League player that doesn’t mean they’re going to roll over."
