  2. Rankin proud of second halfpublished at 21:59 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2023

    FT: Hamilton Accies 0-2 Hearts

Hamilton Accies boss John Rankin on BBC Scotland: "I thought first half we were passive and didn't lay a glove on Hearts. Didn't attack enough. But the second half I was really proud of them.

"We made a change early in the second half and I thought we were a real threat.

"I thought we lacked the final quality in the final third. But I thought defensively and organisationally we were good.

"It won't dent the confidence. The players have had a tough week and picked up two good results. And tonight I was pleased with the second-half performance."

  3. Neilson disappointed with second halfpublished at 21:57 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2023

    FT: Hamilton Accies 0-2 Hearts

Hearts manager Robbie Neilson on BBC Scotland: "These games are always tricky. That's the reason the game was on TV tonight - hoping for a slip up. Thankfully we've managed not to do that.

"First half we were in control, but second half we were poor to be honest with you and gave up a few chances.

"But the most important thing is we're in the hat on Monday. We've been in finals in the last couple of years and lost on penalties and in extra-time, just not been able to take the next step.

"Hopefully this year with the experience we've gained we can take the final step."

"Nights like these are tough but you need to outwork them and let your quality shine through. We confident we can go all the way."

    FT: Hamilton Accies 0-2 Hearts

Hearts midfielder Robert Snodgrass on BBC Scotland: "I think coming here they've just come off the back off 120 minutes midweek and a good result so it was about showing them the respect they deserve.

"I thought we controlled the game in the first half really well and had a lot of chances and could have scored more.

"Getting into the next round is what's important. The lads did really well, a clean sheet and into the next round."

Alan Forrest does brilliantly to chase down a pass and hook a cross back before the ball ran out of play.

Devlin gets there first, and it ricochets off Hamilton defender Dan O'Reilly and comes back to him to stick in the bottom corner.

You see Hamilton play like this and you wonder how on earth they've got themselves at the bottom of the Championship table.

Yes the form has improved, they've got a game in hand but they're still adrift, but if they keep performing like this, they stand a very good chance of getting off the foot of the table.

It's dipped a wee bit in the stands and on the pitch, in truth.

There's not been much to cheer about for the travelling Jambos second half.

In fact there a few more sighs around us as Accies probe more than they did in the entire first half.
