An awkward kicking moment or two from Andy Fisher so far this evening.

  2. 'Piroe is too deep'published at 17 mins

    Ian Walsh
Former Swansea striker on BBC Radio Wales

You can't play Joel Piroe out in a wide position, they tried it against Stoke City and it just didn't work.

At the moment Piroe is too deep, he's inside his own half when the central defenders have got it.

  3. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Rotherham

Morgan Whittaker wins a freekick in a dangerous area thanks to some tenacious play by Joe Allen. That lifts the home fans.... Viktor Johansson has to parry Ryan Manning's freekick to safety.

  4. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Rotherham

"Is this a library?" the Rotherham fans sing, ironically, fairly quietly.

    The Swansea fans are subdued.

Former Wales midfielder and BBC Wales pundit

When you are low on confidence you overthink everything, nothing is natural and so if the Swansea players go in for a tackle, you're always going to be behind play and then you commit more fouls.

  6. Postpublished at 12 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Rotherham

Not much to get excited about since that early chance for Rotherham.

  7. 'Swansea must not concede early'published at 10 mins

  11. CLOSE!published at 4 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Rotherham

    A first shot for Swansea.

Ollie Cooper is given an absolutely ludicrous amount of room and he runs into the acre Rotherham have left him, but his shot is straight at goalkeeper Viktor Johansson.

  12. Swansea the great entertainers?published at 4 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Rotherham

Swansea City have not won enough games for their supporters' liking since they climbed to fourth in the Championship after victory in the south Wales derby in October, thanks chiefly to an ugly defensive record.

Only the bottom two, Blackpool and Wigan, have conceded more second-tier goals than Swansea's tally of 50 so far this season.

Yet Russell Martin's team have scored 46 times, a record bettered by only five Championship clubs in 2022-23.

There could well be goals tonight - as Chiedozie Ogbene's first-minute near-miss suggests.

  13. 'A good result will lift momentum'published at 3 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Rotherham

    Ian Walsh
Former Swansea striker on BBC Radio Wales

Something has got to happen this season for it not to just peter out for Swansea.

A good result tonight will lift momentum.

  14. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Rotherham

"Yes, that's why we wanted to sign him," thinks Swansea boss Russell Martin (probably).

  15. CLOSE!published at 1 min

    Swansea 0-0 Rotherham

What a start from the visitors as Chiedoze Ogbene cuts inside and his shot smashes back off the post!

It only took 53 seconds for us to almost see a goal.

  16. Postpublished at 1 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Rotherham

    Swansea all in white.

Rotherham, for some reason, are all in yellow.

Referee Gavin Ward gets us under way in Swansea after a minute of applause in support of Ukraine, as we've seen across the EFL this weekend.

Lets hope for good game this evening.

    It seems likely?

Swansea's Championship games have seen 96 goals scored this season, more than any other side in the division.

    Swansea v Rotherham (20:00 GMT)

    Ian Walsh

They've got to defend better, they've got to defend with more aggression and more purpose and stop these goals going in and that's a big problem for them.

  20. Russell Martin admits mistakes but wants to stay at Swanspublished at 19:55 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2023

    Swansea v Rotherham (20:00 GMT)

Swansea boss Russell Martin did not try and hide that he was a man under pressure when I caught up with him at his pre-match press conference on Friday.

Swansea have won three of their last 19 games, with some fans showing anger after Tuesday's 3-1 loss to Stoke.

Martin says it has been business as usual this week as he continues to make long-term plans for the Swans.

"I want to be here, how long other people want me here is not for me to decide," he told BBC Sport Wales.

"There's been no discussions at all [with the owners].

"We have had lots of chats about the summer and planning. We will continue on that line until we get told otherwise.

"We are the youngest team in the league, we play brilliant football at times but we make too many mistakes and concede too many goals, there is no dressing that up."

Martin went on to admit he "has made mistakes" in his time as Swansea boss, but believes he can still deliver success for the club.
