    Luton 0-1 Millwall

Luton threaten in a bid to recover from that early set-back.

Elijah Adebayo gets on the end of an inswinging corner from the right, but heads over from inside the six-yard box.

    A fast-tempo start.

GOAL: Luton 0-1 Millwallpublished at 20:05 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2023

    Zian Flemming (4 mins)

Millwall have the lead with the first shot on target of the game, and it's an absolute howler by Luton keeper Ethan Horvath.

It comes from a long free-kick pumped forward by Lions goalkeeper George Long, which is flicked on by Tom Bradshaw on the edge of the box.

Zian Flemming hits it first-time left-footed on the half-volley from just inside the area.

It's straight at Horvath, head-high, and you'd expect him to gather... but it slips through his fingers and into the net.

He won't want to see that one again. The stuff of blooper compilations.

  3. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:01 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2023

    Luton 0-0 Millwall

Kenilworth Road is sold out for this one.

There's usually a bit of spice when the Hatters and Lions meet, with the two sets of supporters sharing a bit of a rivalry - to put it mildly...

Will the home crowd spur their side on to what would be a crucial victory in the race for the play-offs?

Geoff Eltringham is in charge for this one.

Salford could move as high as fourth and they're already in front at Barrow.

Ryan Watson has put City ahead from the penalty spot.

Bad news for Barrow who have picked up just four points this season after conceding the first goal.

    Luton v Millwall (20:00 GMT)

Millwall go into this game having won three of their past four away games.

Victories at Cardiff, QPR and Stoke have moved the Lions on to six wins in 17 trips away from The Den - one more than they managed in the whole of last season.

Luton have lost two of their past four at Kenilworth Road.

The Hatters are aiming to avoid back-to-back home league defeats for the first time since November 2021.

We're up and running in League One as Lincoln City hit the front against MK Dons.

Daniel Mandroiu has put the Imps in front with a cracking long-range finish - in off the underside of the bar.

Can City claim just a fourth league win at home this season?

They've drawn 12 of their 15 league games at Sincil Bank this season. Burnley are the only other side in the EFL who are still unbeaten on home soil.

    League Two preview

In League Two, results tonight could see a shake-up at both ends of the table.

Stevenage's automatic promotion bid has faltered in recent weeks with a five-match winless run, but Boro can reclaim second spot if they win at AFC Wimbledon.

However, Northampton Town could capitalise on any slip-up and move into the top three themselves if Jon Brady's men get a positive result at out-of-form Harrogate Town, who now find themselves four points above the bottom two.

Crawley Town are 23rd after four defeats in five - including a 5-2 home defeat by Carlisle on Saturday - and make the long trip north to mid-table Tranmere.

Gillingham look to move further clear of danger as they seek a fourth straight win against Bradford, who are within touching distance of the play-offs.

Sixth-placed Salford City, meanwhile, can strengthen their promotion bid at Barrow, who are five points off the top seven.

There's a quartet of matches in the third tier, with two play-off contenders, a couple of top-six hopefuls and two sides at the bottom in action.

Bolton could go third and move three points behind the automatic promotion places if they win at mid-table Portsmouth, who are in need of points to revive their play-off charge.

Meanwhile, sixth-placed Derby entertain a Cheltenham side who begin the evening two points above the relegation zone.

MK Dons will move out of the bottom four if they pick up all three points at Lincoln, while Peterborough have a chance to cut the gap to the top six as they host Charlton.

Luton Town v Millwall (20:00 GMT)

Luton Town and Millwall are both in the thick of the play-off picture and can barely be separated after 33 games of the campaign.

In fact, the Lions from south-east London are only ahead of the Hatters on goals scored, with 41 to Luton's 40.

With sixth place hosting fifth, victory for either side would move them up to fourth in the table and above Blackburn, and also establish a four-point gap to seventh-placed Norwich.

Millwall come into the game in better form. Gary Rowett's men are on a three-match unbeaten run while Luton have one win in four.

However, that victory came at Birmingham on Saturday.

If Preston and Coventry have any designs on a late dash for a play-offs place, they need to start making it soon, and tonight would be a good start.

Preston are 12th in the table with 45 points and are unbeaten in the last three games, having come from behind to take the points against Wigan at the weekend.

The visitors are in form too, having won their last three games, but they have never won at Deepdale in the league in 20 attempts spanning 72 years.

They are one place and three points above the Lilywhites in the table - but the hosts would have to win by six goals to leapfrog Coventry.

But with 16-goal striker Viktor Gyokeres in the line-up, the Sky Blues always have a chance of a first EFL win in Preston.
