Caretaker boss Amy Merricks makes three changes to the Brighton XI that started the midweek defeat at Chelsea.

In come Megan Walsh, Lee Geum-Min and Veatriki Sarri with Lydia Williams, Victoria Williams and Brianna Visalli dropping to the bench.

Gareth Taylor makes just one change to the Manchester City side that started the 3-1 win over Tottenham last weekend.

Sandy MacIver is preferred to Ellie Roebuck in goal, the 10 outfield players are unchanged as City try to keep pace with the WSL leaders.

Interim Brighton boss Amy Merricks wants her side to be competitive in the Women's Super League. They are currently 11th, two points above bottom-side Leicester City.

"Something very important for us to take forward is that we're not just in this league to take part, we're here to compete. We appreciate that this game is going to be tough, but we are looking to compete from minute one until the end.

"We have to focus on our performance and build on those moments from Chelsea that were really good and take that with us.

"We want to embrace the challenge that is ahead of us and I want the team to express themselves no matter who we're playing against. We'll be diligent in our preparation and put our best team out to get the points."

It's three changes for Liverpool from the team that lost 2-0 to Arsenal on Wednesday.

Miri Taylor, Hannah Silcock and Carla Humphrey all drop to the bench. In come Gemma Bonner, Megan Campbell and Yana Daniels.

And it's one change for Tottenham after their 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

Star striker Bethany England comes in for Celin Bizet.

Tottenham XI: Korpela, Neville, Turner, Bartrip, Harrop, Spence, James, Karczewska, Iwabuchi, Ayane, England.

The loser of Tottenham’s trip to Liverpool could find themselves looking nervously at the WSL’s relegation battle.

Spurs are currently three points clear, while Liverpool have a five-point buffer between themselves and the bottom.

Melanie Leupolz was shown a yellow card in the build-up to that chance after a string of fouls. The game is definitely beginning to develop.

Alessia Russo has her first effort on goal as she turns quickly in the box and unleashes a shot at goal, but it's a comfortable save for Ann-Katrin Berger.

United have got back into the game and have a penalty shout as Nikita Parris goes down in the box after contact with Kadeisha Buchanan.
