There has been a lot of talk about Manchester United's proposed stadium renovations recently.

At the same time, Manchester City have submitted plans to increase the size of the Etihad Stadium to over 60,000 and Liverpool are cracking on with their upgrade of the Anfield Road end.

Anfield has always been one of the great English stadiums.

This place will look fantastic when the work is done.

    Leicester v Wolves (15:00 BST)

Leicester can equal the club league record of five successive home defeats, set from January to March 1959 in the top flight.

They have taken only one point from their past nine Premier League games. They have won just two of their last 16 league matches.

The Foxes have lost 20 Premier League games this season. It is their highest number of defeats in a 38-game season since losing 24 times in 1914-15 in the second tier.

Leicester are the only side of the 98 in the top five European leagues without a clean sheet following the World Cup.

    Leicester v Wolves

Wolves look safe already but Leicester are in deep trouble, and about to start a run of games against teams around them at the bottom of the table.

The Foxes really need to win this game for starters, but do I trust them defensively enough for them to do it? No, I don't - I am expecting Wolves to score.

Leicester have been leaky all season, and their form at King Power Stadium is poor - only Southampton have a worse home record - so just because they badly need a win does not mean any of that will change.

    Chris Sutton's prediction: 1-1

This afternoon's home game against Wolves is a massive one for Leicester in their fight for survival.

The Foxes, who lost to Manchester City in Dean Smith's first game in charge last week, are on a four-game losing run and are without a win in 10 games in all competitions.

A win today could lift them out of the relegation zone, if other results also go their way.

Wolves are 13th on 34 points, seven points clear of the drop. Three points today might just about do it for them.

It got a bit frantic towards the end but Fulham held on.

Leeds will be rather worried as they watch the rest of the weekends fixtures come in. They're in big trouble now if they weren’t already.

The season is not over from and Fulham point of view, and certainly not for Leeds.

  6. 'It is a massive three points.'published at 14:37 British Summer Time 22 April 2023

    FT: Fulham 2-1 Leeds

    Fulham

Harry Wilson speaking to BT Sport after the game: "It was a bit nervy towards the end, the goal didn't help but its massive three points."

On scoring the first goal: "It fell lovely for me, it was a good team move and it came back of the keeper and it just sat up nicely and I could get a nice connection on it.

"The final pass wasn't always there. There was a few of moments that we managed to create and thankfully we could only get two goals."

On this season's form: "We have always had belief and the quality in the team and to keep high up the table. That relegation battle is intense this year with a number of teams down there and luckily we are not one of them."

Brentford v Aston Villa (15:00 BST)

Ollie Watkins has scored 11 times in 12 league appearances, including one in each of his last six away matches. He needs one more goal to become the first Villa player to reach 15 in a top-flight season since Christian Benteke a decade ago.

Watkins, who scored 49 goals in 143 appearances for Brentford prior to joining Villa, has been directly involved in the most Premier League goals in 2023, with 11 goals and three assists.

"I'm loving it, there's no denying it - all the boys are," said Watkins of the club's form.

"Since the new manager has come in, we couldn't have made a better start. I'm really enjoying it, working hard and trying to keep the momentum going."

What a truly remarkable job Unai Emery has done at Aston Villa.

We all knew they were underachieving under Steven Gerrard, but I don't think many thought they would be challenging for Europe.

Villa have equalled the club record of five consecutive Premier League victories, set in 1996 and matched in 1998.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank says his side are "not in the European hunt" anymore after three straight defeats.

The Bees are six points behind seventh-placed Brighton, who have games in hand.

He said: "It’s been more a narrative you guys have tried to create that we want to be in a [European] hunt.

"It's never been the aim for us just to survive in this league. We never mentioned it, we always want to aim as high as possible and develop and get higher.

"For Brentford, with the second-lowest budget and all that, just to stay in the league is an unbelievable success. To be close to maybe finishing in the top 10 shouldn’t be possible - and to be on a European hunt, that's remarkable.

"We are not in the European hunt, but we want to end as high as possible. We badly want to win tomorrow against Villa.

"We just need to perform again, hopefully get a win and we’ll see where we end."

    Brentford v Aston Villa

I'm probably not the only person to have under-estimated Aston Villa in recent weeks. Unai Emery's side are flying and their 3-0 win over Newcastle last time out actually flattered the Magpies, who have got the best defensive record in the top flight.

Villa's performance in that game was one of the best displays I've seen from any team this season. They are brilliantly organised but also carry a real attacking threat.

Ollie Watkins has talked about Emery's coaching and playing off the defender's shoulder but Emiliano Buendia is becoming more prominent, creating chances for Watkins the same way he used to with Teemu Pukki in his Norwich days.

Brentford's results have dropped off a bit in recent weeks but they still don't lose many at home. It's only the fact Villa have been so good that makes me think they can edge it.

    Chris Sutton's prediction:1-2
