Republic of Ireland midfielder Will Smallbone, speaking to RTE: It was a great day and to get the win makes it an even better debut, I have always dreamed of this.

I thought the first 20 minutes we came out with confidence and we were playing some good football and it was disappointing to go in at half-time at 2-2.

The most important thing in the second half was to come out and get the win and we did.

I want to play against France and I will be happy if I am needed from the bench or the start.
