    FT: Rangers 1-1 Celtic

That's all from us tonight - Rangers led through Brogan Hay's close range effort, but Celtic stay second in the SWPL thanks to Caitlin Hayes' last-gasp equaliser.

There's also sure to be fall-out from the post-match incident between Rangers coach Craig McPherson and Fran Alonso.

The sides return to action on Sunday with all 12 SWPL teams in action.

  2. 'It leaves us battling for second' - Thomsonpublished at 21:56 British Summer Time 27 March 2023

    FT: Rangers 1-1 Celtic

Rangers head coach Malky Thomson has also been talking to Sky Sports post-match:

"It's really difficult, especially considering the first half when we were excellent," he said.

"We had a real good chance to make it 2-0 and put the game out of reach. It was an entertaining game, obviously it leaves us battling for second place now, but maybe there will be some more thrills and spills.

"I'm a wee bit gutted, but we'll pick ourselves up and move on."

On the incident involving Fran Alonso at full-time: "Without seeing it, I won't comment on it. If that's the case there will be an investigation."

  3. 'It feels like a win' - Alonsopublished at 21:53 British Summer Time 27 March 2023

    FT: Rangers 1-1 Celtic

More from Fran Alonso, this time talking about the game itself:

"We wanted the three points, but knew we were facing a top side," he said. "We never gave up - it's only one point but feels like a win.

"Both teams had a half each - it was a fair result. Caitlin Hayes is an outstanding player, a great fighter.

"They were the better team in the first half, but we had a little bit more control once we went to two up front. It's so pleasing when it comes, so I was very happy at the end."

    Wow, just wow!

What an end to an unbelievably tight affair. Rangers will be absolutely kicking themselves, they've spoke of how much the 3-0 defeat a few weeks ago hurt, and despite this being a draw, I reckon it'll sting more.

Who does the point suit more? Neither.

Glasgow City, though, will be watching on with huge grins... their lead at the top increases.

I mentioned that there were some unsavoury scenes at full-time, and it appears that a member of Rangers' coaching staff clashed with Fran Alonso as he congratulated his players.

The Celtic head coach has been talking to Sky about the incident:

"Somebody just pushed me from behind, and I was called a little rat, but I don't know why," he said.

Reaction to come after that scarcely believable finish.

    FT: Rangers 1-1 Celtic

As part of BBC Scotland's preview of the match, we asked Rangers' Rachel McLauchlan and Celtic's Chloe Craig which players from the opposition they feared.

Chloe Craig picked Brogan Hay. Rachel McLauchlan went for Caitlin Hayes. And lo and behold, it is those two players who got the goals.

And that remarkable equaliser was the last action at Broadwood.

The passion spills over somewhat though and there's a little scrap between a few of the opposing members of staff.

Celtic stay second in the SWPL in a result that suits Glasgow City more than anyone.

    Caitlin Hayes

    WOWWWWWW!!!

It's a hopeful ball forwards from the back, which Rangers allow to bounce and Caitlin Hayes doesn't need a second opportunity.

She nicks in ahead of Jenna Fife and taps into an open goal to the delight of Fran Alonso.

    Unbelievable scenes.

  14. PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Emma Watsonpublished at 21:23 British Summer Time 27 March 2023

    Rangers 1-0 Celtic

Emma Watson has been named Player of the Match on the TV, and I can't complain with that.

A performance of maturity and skill from the 17-year-old.

One to watch in the future for sure.

Emma Watson is down with cramp for Rangers - I'm not surprised with the shift she's put in.

Sam Kerr is also receiving treatment after getting clattered by Natalie Ross - she's been in the wars tonight.

Kelly Clark, looking to atone for her error that led to the Rangers goal, gets on the end of a Jacynta corner, but Jenna Fife saves well down to her left.

The stat has just flashed up on the TV that Celtic have scored 18 league goals in the last 15 minutes of matches this season.

How they would love a 19th...

    Rangers 1-0 Celtic

Another lovely bit of play from Emma Watson down the left, and she whips a magical cross into the danger area.

Sam Kerr meets it, but doesn't get the best contact on her header and it's easy enough for Pamela Tajonar.

Will Rangers come to rue these missed chances?

  19. CLOSE!published at 72 mins

    Rangers 1-0 Celtic

Sam Kerr continued after that earlier bit of treatment and she is at her absolute best here.

After Celtic scramble a corner clear, the Scotland midfielder gets her head up and delivers a delightful cross to the back post, begging to be put into the back of the net.

However, Kirsty Howat can't quite stretch enough to get on the end of it.

A second goal would kill this game off for Rangers
