Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti: "I'm naturally optimistic and I think the team's doing well, they're motivated, and there's a good atmosphere.

"Sometimes there are moments that you can't understand, like the match against Girona [a 4-2 defeat], but I'm still confident because I feel the team is good.

"We're all well up for these games. We want to repeat last year's success because it was unforgettable and it provides great motivation for this season."

Almeria are only outside the relegation zone by two points and remain in deep trouble.

They have won two of their last four games in La Liga - as many as in their previous 13 - including one in their last game (2-1 at Getafe).

Almeria have not won two in a row away from home in the top-flight since January 2015.

Real Madrid v Almeria (17:30 BST)

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric misses today with a thigh injury and he could be a doubt for their upcoming games.

Real face Osasuna in the Spanish Cup final on 6 May and Manchester City in the Champions League on 9 May.

"He had an injury in the match against Girona and is out of action," boss Carlo Ancelotti said.

"It's pending evolution and we don't know if he will be fit for the Copa match. We are hurt and we hope he can recover soon to play in the important matches."

Barcelona are 11 points clear with just seven games to go - so surely they are going to win it.

    But their form is shaky.

They could almost have had it wrapped up by now, but they have only won one of their past four La Liga games.
