    Partick Thistle 1-0 Queen's Park

Thistle seem to have flicked a switch and the game is now well in their favour.

Loooong way to go yet, though.

  2. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 20:06 British Summer Time 9 May 2023

    Partick Thistle 1-0 Queen's Park

    Oh... that's tight.

Thistle think they have a quickfire second. Scott Tiffoney drills one low to the back post and Brian Graham is there to tap in.

Lineman's flag is up and it looks just about right.

Wow, Falkirk's promotion hopes could have been ended within the opening 16 minutes at Excelsior Stadium.

GOAL! Partick Thistle 1-0 Queen's Parkpublished at 20:02 British Summer Time 9 May 2023

    Kyle Turner

    Hold that thought...

Very well-worked goal from Thistle. Tidy play results in Kyle Turner turning his man then shooting at the near post.

His driven finish takes a deflection off Charlie Fox and bursts the net.

  10. CLOSE!published at 19:54 British Summer Time 9 May 2023

    Yep. This has started well.

Up the other end, Kyle Turner carries the ball into the box brilliantly but his shot is just over.

    Unlucky.

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 19:53 British Summer Time 9 May 2023

    Partick Thistle 0-0 Queen's Park

    How's that not gone in??!

Thistle make a mess of clearing a free-kick and Charlie Fox is at the back post.

But the defender's effort is saved on the line by David Mitchell. The ball then just seems to hit someone and then hits the woodwork.

  13. CLOSE!published at 19:50 British Summer Time 9 May 2023

    Sooo close.

Queen's capitalise on sloppy defending and the ball eventually breaks for Grant Savoury on the edge, who curls just wide.

    Partick Thistle v Queen's Park (19:45)

Most of you will know this, but for those who don't...

The Championship title winners secure automatic promotion to the Premiership. Of course, that's Dundee. The second, third and fourth-placed sides then enter the play-offs.

Queen's Park, who somehow finished third, and Partick Thistle, who finished fourth, will battle it out over two legs to see who faces second-placed Ayr United in the semi-final.

Whoever wins that will then play the 11th-placed Premiership side for a place in the top flight next term.

    Clear? Aye? Lovely.

  19. Play-offs a chance to 'show our character' - Coylepublished at 19:37 British Summer Time 9 May 2023

    Partick Thistle v Queen's Park (19:45)

Queen's Park head coach Owen Coyle tells BBC Scotland: "It was a huge disappointment [to not win the league]. It's a quick turnaround - that'll be a real test for us.

"We had to get some freshness in the team. Now it's up to the players to show they've got that mentality.

"There's no better way to achieve promotion, but you're competing with three other teams. It gives us an opportunity to show our character."
