  1. Post update

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

It's end-to-end all off a sudden and the home fans are willing Stockport forward with roars of encouragement.

Another neat cross from Ryan Rydel finds Isaac Olaofe, but the forward can only power his header wide.

  2. Post update

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

Ben Hinchliffe is not being afforded a minute of peace in Stockport's goal right now.

This time Stephen Mallan has a crack from outside the area. Hinchliffe does well to contain the shot as it swerves a little on the way to goal.

  3. Post update

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

    Stephen O'Halloran

Ex-Salford and Stockport defender on BBC Radio Manchester

Time stood still there and Matt Smith was the only one who reacted. He put himself in the right area and caused trouble for Stockport.

  4. GREAT SAVE!

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

Ben Hinchliffe scrambles to make a great save with his foot to deny Matt Smith.

The forward does well to spin in the area to get an effort on goal after a deflected shot from Stephen Mallan fell kindly for him.

  5. Post update

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

The free-kick is well defended, but the visitors are heaping pressure on.

  6. YELLOW CARD

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

Stockport defender Fraser Horsfall is the first to be cautioned.

He knew he would need to be all over Matt Smith today to try contain the Salford forward.

Horsfall's arms are all over the place and Smith gets one across the face.

It gifts Salford a free-kick in a dangerous area on the right.

  7. Post update

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

Ryan Rydel is man creating all the danger for Stockport early on.

He whips in a lovely cross from the left, but Conor Lemonleigh-Evans fails to reach it.

It's a positive start from the host and more aggressive than what they were in the first leg.

  8. Post update

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

Ryan Rydel finds a bit of space on the left side of the box for Stockport.

He does well to flick a dangerous low ball back across goal, and in doing so he is collected by a defender. There is no serious shout for a penalty, but he is looking a bit uncomfortable on the floor.

He eventually shakes it off and we are up and at it again.

  9. Post update

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

    Steve Eyre

Former Rochdale boss on BBC Radio Manchester

You wish it was Matt Smith on the end of that cross. Callum Hendry is a good finisher and I think he will think he should have scored.

Salford have negotiated the first 10 minutes quite well, but they are quite deep and encouraging Stockport to come on to them.

  10. Post update

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

Another free header for Salford in the box now.

This time it's Callum Hendy on the end of a looped cross. He nods it on target, but Ben Hinchliffe is untroubled as he grabs it in his arms.

  11. Post update

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

    Stockport v Salford

Salford are one of just three sides to have scored more goals than Stockport in the regular season.

The Hatters, however, were at a bit of loss in front of goal in the first leg last week. They managed just one shot on target, and that came in the first 15 minutes.

They need their shooting boots on today if they are to claw things back.

So far, Salford are looking the more industrious of the two going forward.

  12. Post update

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

Ben Hinchliffe is again called into action in Stockport's goal.

Conor McAleny runs at the defence, drifts from left to right and pulls the trigger on a low shot. It's straight into the grasp of the keeper.

  13. Post update

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

An early sniff of a chance for Salford from a throw-in.

Stockport hang off Matt Smith, and he is allowed to loop a header on target.

Smith scored the winner last week, and is not someone that can be allowed to have a loose leash.

  14. Post update

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

Stockport have made their Edgeley Park home somewhat of a fortress in recent months and are 12 games unbeaten in all competitions here.

There is certainly a buzz in the stands early on.

Salford are actually going for a club record fourth successive win away from home in the English Football League.

Amazingly, the three wins on the road to finish that regular season were all by a 3-2 scoreline.

  15. Post update

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

    Steve Eyre

Former Rochdale boss on BBC Radio Manchester

I don't believe Salford will go all-out to protect their 1-0 lead here. I think they will need to score so I think we'll have an open game.

  16. KICK-OFF

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

And we are up and running at Edgeley Park.

  17. Post update

    Stockport 0-0 Salford (agg 0-1)

    Pre-game pleasantries are done.

We are just moments from kick-off.

  18. Team news

    Stockport v Salford (12:30 BST)

Stockport make four changes for this deciding play-off tie, with the headline being that captain and forward Paddy Madden returns.

Joe Lewis is also back, while Isaac Olaofe and Ryan Rydel are in the starting XI after both coming off the bench last week.

Stockport: Hinchliffe, Wright, Horsfall, Lewis, Knoyle, Camps, Lemonheigh-Evans, Rydel, Hussey, Madden, Olaofe.

Substitutes: Byrne, Sarcevic, Collar, Stretton, Croasdale, Hippolyte, Jaros.

Salford City's starting XI is unchanged for the second leg.

There are, however, changes on the bench with Joel Torrance and Ethan Galbraith coming into the squad.

Salford: Cairns, Shephard, Vassell, Mariappa, Touray, Watt, Mallan, Bolton, Hendry, McAleny, Smith.

Substitutes: Lund, Galbraith, Barry, Leak, Morton, Torrance, McLoughlin.

  19. Post update

    Stockport v Salford (12:30 BST)

Kyle Knoyle of Stockport County and Ibou Touray of Salford City

Every team that has gone into the second leg of their play-off semi-final this week with a lead has seen it overtaken.

First it was Luton who overturned a 2-1 first-leg deficit to get past Sunderland in the Championship, then there was the comeback for the ages in League One as Sheffield Wednesday did the seemingly unthinkable at Hillsborough on Thursday and reached Wembley after losing the opening tie 4-0 at Peterborough.

Now, I’m not one to say Stockport will follow suit… I’m simply pointing out that comebacks are all the rage right now.

Salford City will, of course, have plenty to say about that. And so they shall when action gets under way in less than 10 minutes.

  20. Post update

    Stockport v Salford (12:30 BST)

First up, we have Stockport County hosting Salford City.

The Ammies hold the advantage in this one after winning their first leg 1-0 at home.

Kick-off is less than 15 minutes away at Edgeley Park.

And after this, attention will turn further north as Carlisle United host Bradford, who travel to Brunton Park with a 1-0 advantage of their own.
