Stockport substitute Ryan Rydel looks to work onto a rolling ball into the Salford box.

The sun has gone down at the Peninsula Stadium and we're well and truly under the lights.

Stockport keeping the ball a bit better than they have done in this game so far, but Salford are defending really well, pegging the Hatters well back.

Alex Cairns comes out to mop up a rare Stockport attack, however.

They make a rare press into the Salford half but the Ammies do well to clear as they're well kept out outside the hosts' box.

Salford are outstanding with the ball at their feet.

Stockport need to find a way to grind themselves into this game.

Luke Bolton runs into space and gives Stockport some problems down the right flank.

But Neill Byrne puts in a block to concede a corner but deal with the danger.

The corner is swung into the box and floats across and is almost immediately cleared away.

Stevie Mallan heads a high ball which lands almost on halfway as Salford go on the attack again.

He gets a knock on the chin for his trouble and in the process he heads into space but Stockport successfully close it down.

Salford look like they have more players on the pitch.

That's how much better they look compared to Stockport at the moment.

Salford have come storming out for the second half.

Callum Hendry wins the ball and is unmarked on the edge of the Stockport box and he drives low at goal but Ben Hinchliffe makes the save.

A reminder that it was only 2017 when these two teams were facing each other in the National League North.

They've both come a long way since playing regional football and are nearing their path to Wembley and promotion to League One.

Quite the rise.

Remember, this is the third EFL play-off game of the day.

In case you missed the earlier results, Bolton and Barnsley drew 1-1 in the first leg of their League One semi-final.

Nicky Cadden fired the Tykes in front at the University of Bolton Stadium, but Dion Charles' equaliser meant the sides will head to Oakwell on Friday on level terms.

Then, in the Championship play-offs Sunderland came from behind to beat Luton 2-1 at the Stadium of Light.

Elijah Adebayo thrashed the Hatters in front but Amad Diallo curled in a beauty to level for the Black Cats before the break.

Trai Hume then gave Sunderland a slender lead to take to Kenilworth Road on Tuesday with a bullet header.

Notts County win promotion to League Two

League Two will have a new member next season following today's National League promotion final at Wembley.

Notts County twice came from behind against Chesterfield and took it to penalties after Ruben Rodrigues' 108th-minute equaliser.

The Magpies won 4-3 in the shootout and capped off a season to remember with promotion to the EFL.

The answer is no as Salford immediately clear it away from a crowded box.

I don't think we're seeing much of an improvement from Stockport right now.

Instead, I think Salford are willingly giving up the ball which is encouraging the Hatters.

Myles Hippolyte is flagged offside as Stockport look to force a long ball into the Salford box.

Half-time is rapidly approaching but the visitors still trail Salford.

The corner is finally sent into the Stockport box.

But it's headed out for a goal kick to the Hatters.

Liam Shephard sends in a ball into the Stockport box which the hosts just about deal with but Conor McAleny forces another corner to the hosts.

There's a delay to the corner as Theo Vassell's boot comes off and he can't get it back on quickly enough.
