  1. Goodbye!

What a way to end the 2023 group stages, and what a round of 16 awaits.

This World Cup is wide open. Could 2023 be the year of the underdog?

We've got a break tomorrow, but we will be back on Saturday with all the action from Switzerland v Spain and Japan v Norway.

Thank you for joining us and see you again next time.

We'll leave you with this bit of Morocco magic...

  2. Report: Morocco beat Colombia to reach last 16

    FT: Morocco 1-0 Colombia

Morocco have reached the last 16 on their Women's World Cup debut after beating Colombia - although the South Americans progress as Group H winners.

Germany's failure to beat South Korea means Morocco are into the knockout rounds as runners-up.

Anissa Lahmari scored the only goal via a rebound after captain Ghizlane Chebbak's penalty was saved.

    Full report.

  3. 'Other nations are moving fast'

    FT: South Korea 1-1 Germany

    Jonas Eidevall

    Arsenal manager on BBC Two

Development is fast in women's football at the moment.

There's no standing still. We see that with USA, we see that with Germany, we saw that with Brazil as well.

Other nations are moving fast here now and they believe they can make a difference.

  4. Report: Two-time winners Germany knocked out of the World Cup

    South Korea 1-1 Germany

Two-time champions Germany were sent crashing out of the Women's World Cup group stages in the biggest shock of the tournament thanks to a draw with South Korea.

It is the first time in Germany's history they have failed to reach the knockout stages.

One of the pre-tournament favourites, Germany knew they needed to better Morocco's result against Colombia to progress in Group H, but that match finished 1-0 to Morocco.

    Full report.

  5. Post update

Two of the pre-tournament favourites - Germany and Brazil - are out.

And let's not forget there has been underwhelming performances from other teams that were also tipped to lift the trophy, including the USA, Spain and France.

  6. 'Germany shouldn't only depend on Popp'

    FT: South Korea 1-1 Germany

    Jonas Eidevall

    Arsenal manager on BBC Two

Germany should have more players that should be able to create as well.

Such a good football team should not only be dependent on Alexandra Popp. It's almost been that everything has to go through her, it's only she who can make the difference and that's a weakness of this team.

  7. Post update

    FT: South Korea 1-1 Germany

Should this have been the winner for Germany? It could have been a very different story if Alex Popp had found the back of the net.

  9. Watch - Morocco reach last 16

    FT: Morocco 1-0 Colombia

Check out these incredible scenes of celebration as Morocco defy the odds to reach the last 16.

    It's what football is about.

  10. 'Germany deserved to go out'

    FT: South Korea 1-1 Germany

    Jonas Eidevall

    Arsenal manager on BBC Two

That structure that we usually associate with the Germans, we didn't see it in the second half.

Every time this did cross the ball in, I think that was three occasions, they created something big out of it. Why don't you continue to do that?

That's the most disappointing thing with this performance. We didn't see the structure, we didn't see that clear idea on how they were going to score a goal and I think they deserved to go out.

  11. Group H standings

    FT: South Korea 1-1 Germany

Here's the Group H table that confirms Germany's exit from the World Cup.

  12. 'Germany neglected wide areas'

    South Korea 1-1 Germany

    Fara Williams

Former England midfielder on BBC Two

In the first half, South Korea stopped Germany.

But they neglected wide areas in the second half. They decided to neglect their strength to play through the lines.

  13. Post update

    FT: South Korea 1-1 Germany

A year ago Germany- the second ranked team in the world - had just played in the final of the European Championships.

Today, they exit the World Cup group stage with Colombia and Morocco, the 25th and 72nd ranked teams, advancing instead.

  14. 'Something is really progressing'

    South Korea 1-1 Germany

    Fara Williams

Former England midfielder on BBC Two

Morocco were debutants, nobody knew much about them.

Nobody gave them a chance after they were thrashed by Germany. Something is really progressing.

  15. Post update

    FT: South Korea 1-1 Germany

Credit to South Korea, they defended for their lives and stood firm in the dying moments of that match.

They had nothing to lose and they get their first point of this World Cup.

Colin Bell's side have just helped produce one of the biggest upsets in the women's game.

  16. 'Morocco's story has to be unheard of in Women's World Cup history'

    FT: Morocco 1-0 Colombia

    Jonas Eidevall

    Arsenal manager on BBC Two

Especially from the Morocco story, to turn that around. They lost 6-0 in their opening game to Germany and still proceeding. That has to be unheard of in Women's World Cup history.

It's going to be so exciting to follow them in their journey in this World Cup.

    Morocco
  17. Post update

    South Korea 1-1 Germany

So, there you have it. Colombia and Morocco are into the last-16 at the expense of two time World Cup winners.

Colombia will play Jamaica, while Morocco, playing in their debut tournament, will face France.

  18. Post update

    Morocco 1-0 Colombia

Everyone associated with Morocco is in tears of joy on the pitch, players are on their knees crying, many hugging. What a story and what an achievement on their Women's World Cup debut.

    Morocco
  19. 'The biggest shock in the women's game'

    FT: South Korea 1-1 Germany

    Fara Williams

Former England midfielder on BBC Two

Wow. I'm in shock, I really am. That is the biggest shock in the women's game.

For Germany, European Championship finalist only a year ago to be knocked out in the group stage, having gone into the group stage as favourites. For me it's the biggest shock.

It was the most disappointing performance from the Germans in the last two games so it was deserved.

  20. Post update

    South Korea 1-1 Germany

    WOW.

The Germany players are in shock. It is the first time they've not reached the knockout stages.
