  1. Post update

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

Magdalena Eriksson comes in hard on Sam Kerr who stays down as her team mates play around her.

The crowd are calling for the referee to stop the match as Kerr looks to be in a bit of bother here.

Sam Kerr lies on the pitch
  2. SUBSTITUTION

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

Clare Polkinghorne and Ellie Carpenter make way for Alex Chidiac and Courtney Nevin.

Australia know they're going to have to throw everything at this if they are to get back into it.

  3. Post update

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

Teasing ball into the penalty area and Fridolina Rolfo was there but an Australian head cleared it away.

Looks like the Matildas are going to make a couple more changes.

  4. Post update

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

    Blimey that was close.

Clare Hunt heads across goal from a free kick and Clare Polkinghorne pokes towards goal but it was a good stop from Zecira Musovic.

Was there a handball in the middle of all that? Sweden think so but referee says no. Had that gone in it may have been looked at a bit more closely.

  5. SUBSTITUTION

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

Sweden's turn to make a couple of changes.

Off comes goal scorer and captain Kosovare Asllani, who did take that knock to the head at the end of the first half, and Stina Blackstenius, who has made a nuisance of herself all game.

On come proven impact subs Rebecka Blomqvist and Lina Hurtig.

  6. Post update

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

    Ooooh.

Stina Blackstenius has the chance to make it three after a lovely through ball from Fridolina Rolfo.

Mackenzie Arnold makes a decent save but the flag is up so it wouldn't have counted anyway.

  7. Post update

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

The crowd were very quiet when that goal hit the back of the net and it seems to have just zapped some of the energy from them.

Australia will have to produce something special if they are to get back into this.

  8. GOAL - Sweden 2-0 Australia

    Kosovare Asllani (62 mins)

    Oh what a goal.

Australia lose the ball in Sweden's half and they set off on the break.

Stina Blackstenius holds up the ball well and cuts it back for Kosovare Asllani on the edge of the area who rifles it into the bottom corner.

    Superb goal from the captain.

  9. SUBSTITUTION

    Sweden 1-0 Australia

Looks like we're going to see some changes for the co-hosts.

Hayley Raso and Katrina Gorry make way for Cortnee Vine and Emily van Egmond.

Gorry was on a yellow card so that makes sense but not sure about taking Raso off, I thought she was having a decent game.

  10. Post update

    Sweden 1-0 Australia

Oh. Not sure how they've managed that because that was not a good free kick.

A pre-planned routine perhaps that did not go to plan on this occasion.

  11. Post update

    Sweden 1-0 Australia

Sweden have a free kick in a dangerous area.

Of their 13 World Cup goals five have come from set pieces.

  12. Post update

    Sweden 1-0 Australia

The Australia fans have been in fine voice throughout this match but could really do with something to shout about, here.

    Australia fans react
  13. Post update

    Sweden 1-0 Australia

Really nice ball from Fridolina Rolfo out to Johanna Rytting Kaneryd on the right but she's muscled off by Steph Catley.

Sweden come again moments later as Elin Rubensson wins the ball back but opts to pass rather than shoot and Australia clear their lines.

  14. Post update

    Sweden 1-0 Australia

Here is a reminder of what Sam Kerr can do. This stunner against England in the semi-final came from nothing.

The Matildas will be hoping she can pop up with something again, here.

  15. Post update

    Sweden 1-0 Australia

Teasing ball into the area from Ellie Carpenter but Sam Kerr can't quite get hold of it.

Sweden have won every World Cup third-place play-off they have competed in. Australia have never been in one.

They won't want to finish this tournament on the losing team.

  16. KICK-OFF

    Sweden 1-0 Australia

We're back under way for the second half.

Kosovare Asllani and Caitlin Foord are both back out on the pitch after that grim clash of heads.

Foord has got a big bandage round her head.

  17. Post update

Glad to hear that Millie Bright has been sleeping well. I'm not sure how many back home will be able to say the same tomorrow morning.

A first World Cup final for England's women.

Excitement, nerves, all the emotions = not much sleep.

Anyway we're about ready for the second half in Brisbane.

  18. 'I have slept really well, thank you'

Spain v England (Sun, 11:00 BST)

    England

England captain Millie Bright was asked how she had been sleeping and how she was preparing mentally for the final : "I have slept really well, thank you. I have got a lovely big bed that's kept me nice and cosy. Mentality wise, everyone is just super excited to get out there and put a show on."

  19. 'Spain are a fantastic team and deserve to be in the final'

Spain v England (Sun, 11:00 BST)

    England

England captain Millie Bright on whether she is disappointed not to be playing against the world's best players due to the issues in the Spanish team: "In all honestly I have not looked at it like that. It is England versus Spain in a World Cup final. I think they are a fantastic team. We have seen that in their performances so far and that is why they are in the final.

"They deserve to be there and for us we are focussing on ourselves and our preparations and just making sure that we are in the right place come tomorrow - which we are."

  20. 'It is just another game...but we need to play the game of our lives'

Spain v England (Sun, 11:00 BST)

    England

England captain Millie Bright was asked if she was conscious of 1966 and what the players felt about this being their chance to take their place in history: "We live in the moment. Yes, it is a World Cup final, but for us it is just another game.

"Our preparations don't change, no matter the stage in the tournament, and for me that is key.

"The players will be allowed to prepare in any way they need to, like we normally do, and we have a game plan that we have to go out and execute.

"But I think everyone knows how big this is. I think it has been players' dreams for years. Everyone already knows that. Everyone knows how passionate our nation is back home and they want us to win, but for us there is a process of a game plan to execute. But yes, we need to play the game of our lives."
