  1. See you tomorrow!

    That's all from us.

We'll be back tomorrow for the small matter of the World Cup final.

England will go for glory against Spain at 11:00 BST with build-up beginning on BBC One from 09:45 BST. Can't wait.

For now, we'll leave you with the report from Sweden's victory over co-hosts Australia.

  2. England have to play 'game of our lives'

England v Spain (Sun, 11:00 BST)

    Millie Bright

Millie Bright said in a press conference earlier that England will have to "play the game of our lives" if they are to succeed and win a first World Cup trophy.

"It has been players' dreams for years," said Chelsea defender Bright.

"We have got a game plan that we have to go out and execute. Everyone knows how big this is. We know how passionate our nation is back home and how much they want us to win.

"But for us, there is a process. We need to play the game of our lives. It's important our process remains the same. Mentality-wise everyone is super excited to get out there and put a show on."

    One more sleep, people.

  3. One to go

    Well, that's that.

63 matches of 64 done. Just one remains. It's the big one.

England will take on Spain in the World Cup final on Sunday.

  4. Post update

    FT: Sweden 2-0 Australia

As for Sweden, they have featured in the third-place play-off match a record four times and won all of them.

But how do they take it to the next level? They will have seen this year as their opportunity having knocked out defending champions the USA, but it wasn't to be.

They will have to think about how they can go one better in four years time and hope that they can have a go at the main event.

    FT: Sweden 2-0 Australia

Sam Kerr is someone not accustomed to being on the losing side.

A serial winner with Chelsea, she has four Women's Super League, three FA Cup and two League Cup titles under her belt.

But this one will hurt her.

    FT: Sweden 2-0 Australia

Here is captain Kosovare Asllani's brilliant goal which pretty much wrapped up victory for Sweden.

  7. Australia don't win trophy but win 'heart and passion'

    Australia fans

When the dust has settled, Australia will be able to reflect on a successful tournament in other ways.

It is perhaps testament to Australia's World Cup performances that they were "disappointed" to miss out on the final and now this. But, in their pursuit of glory, the Matildas have won over a nation.

Australia head coach Tony Gustavsson said after the semi-final loss to England it is "just the beginning" for the Matildas.

"I hate to lose, but this is bigger than 90 minutes of football," he said.

En route to reaching the last four for the first time, the Matildas captivated Australia, winning over fans across the country and thriving in front of their record-breaking home crowds.

Wednesday's semi-final was the most-watched event on national television since at least 2001, holding an average audience of over 7 million viewers.

Across the country, bars and pop-up viewing sites were maxed out.

"I'm happy that people believed we could win this tournament," said Gustavsson.

"We felt that belief, we had this belief for a long time internally. We are maybe not as high ranked, or have as many big players or the same resources, but we have something else very special in this team.

"I don't think it's too early [to think about winning the World Cup], but I also think it's just the beginning of something.

"Hopefully we won something else. We've won the heart and the passion for this game in this country."

  8. Post update

    FT: Sweden 2-0 Australia

The Australia players look really disappointed with that as the Sweden players run onto the pitch to celebrate a fourth bronze medal at the World Cup and their second consecutive one.

Sweden just had the edge over the Matildas today in terms of experience and composure. Australia lost to England in the semi-final on Wednesday and will seemed to be struggling to regroup and get over that.

  9. FULL-TIME

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

Caitlin Foord has a wild shot and it sails over the bar as the whistle goes.

It's another bronze medal for Sweden but a disappointing end to a fantastic tournament for Australia.

  10. Post update

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

Seconds remaining. Sweden will just play down the clock.

  11. YELLOW CARD

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

Lina Hurtig goes into the book for a foul on Alex Chidiac.

Australia have a free kick and it's last chance saloon for the Matildas but Zecira Musovic collects with ease.

  12. Post update

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

Decent ball into the area from Mary Fowler but Australia shirts can get anything on it.

It comes back out to the edge of the area but Kyra Cooney-Cross' ball is snatched at Sweden win the goal kick.

  13. INJURY TIME

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

We'll have six minutes added on for Sweden to see this out. Can Australia give their fans one last thing to shout about?

  14. SUBSTITUTION

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

Johanna Rytting Kaneryd makes way for Linda Sembrant as we reach the end of normal time.

  15. Post update

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

It seems like Australia have just been unable to get over that semi-final defeat on Wednesday. Just two days is not a long time to get over that and Sweden have just shown greater experience here.

Elin Rubensson goes into the book.

  16. Post update

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

Just five minutes to go in this one and time is running out for Australia to get their perfect ending to this tournament.

Caitlin Foord thinks she should've won a free-kick in the middle of the park but referee says play on. We may see another change from Sweden as they attempt to keep the momentum with them.

  17. Post update

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

A lovely mazy run from Johanna Rytting Kaneryd as she skips away from two then three Australian defenders.

She runs out of steam eventually, though, and the Matildas win the goal kick.

  18. Post update

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

Lina Hurtig does well to scramble the ball away from Kyra Cooney-Cross in the middle of the park.

It's all fallen a bit flat with those substitutions and the knock to Sam Kerr.

Australia are going to have to up the tempo if they hope to get anything.

  19. Post update

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

Yes, here she comes back into the mix.

But, she doesn't look to be moving completely freely. It looks like her ankle that is perhaps giving her some trouble.

  20. Post update

    Sweden 2-0 Australia

Hmm, Sam Kerr is hobbling off here and clearly in a bit of discomfort.

I don't think she will want to miss the rest of this one so if she can play on, she will.
