With Kerr on the pitch you always feel that the Matildas can come up with something.

Well that has shaken things up a bit.

Australia were just starting to get into the game but based on the opening 25 minutes or so you would probably say Sweden deserve to be ahead.

What have Australia got now? They will not want their party to be spoiled.

Sumptuous delivery into the box from Kosovare Asllani and Fridolina Rolfo gets a header on it but it hammers off the crossbar.

Sweden captain Kosovare Asllani talked before the match about silencing the Australia crowd but so far they haven't managed to do that.

Oh now that was a chance.

Hayley Raso has looked very lively so far and she picks up a really good delivery from Ellie Carpenter on the left of the penalty area.

She fires a shot off high into the top left corner, forcing a good save from Zecira Musovic.

Unlucky.

Australia break again but the cross is a bit deep and Hayley Raso just can't quite keep it in play.

Much better from the Matildas, though.

Steph Catley's delivery is cleared easily but that passage of play has really given the Australia fans something to cheer about.

The drumming and singing hasn't really stopped at all.

That clearance only comes back as far as the half-way line and Australia manage to get it back. Sam Kerr slots a pass through for Mary Fowler on the left, who can't get a decent shot off from the tight angle.

Good chance for Australia and it comes from a Mackenzie Arnold goal kick.

Hayley Raso does well to latch on and starts to drive towards goal but it's a wall of yellow shirts in the way and eventually Elin Rubensson clears.

Sam Kerr flicks a header on to Caitlin Foord but she's muscled off the ball by Nathalie Bjorn.

Australia have just managed to weather that early storm from Sweden.

Sweden have had the majority of the ball and the chances, so far.

Free-kick the other way as Catley gets in front of Johanna Rytting Kaneryd but it ends up going backwards.

First chance for Australia to take advantage on the counter and Hayley Raso does well to keep hold of the ball and get it out to Caitlin Foord.

She goes for the cross but Nathalie Bjorn is in the way and the referee says it was handball. Australia have a free-kick in a decent spot.

The noise just ramps up inside Brisbane Stadium every time the Matildas are on the ball.

But so far, that hasn't been very often. Sweden comfortable in possession.

Stina Blackstenius already looking dangerous down the right.

She's away again but this time opts for a looping cross out to Fridolina Rolfo on the left, she whips it back in but Mackenzie Arnold comes out to claim.

Very early chance for Sweden and it was a decent one as well.

Stina Blackstenius latches onto a ball down the right-hand side and attempts a slotted finish into the far left corner but it's palmed away by Mackenzie Arnold.

Lucky for Australia it was a Matilda who was there on hand to clear the danger and not a Sweden shirt to finish it off.
