    Partick Thistle 1-0 Ayr Utd

Josh Mullin is in the book. He reacts to Kyle Turner giving him a wee pull and puts his hands in the Thistle man's face.

A bit daft. Sportscene pundit James McFadden thinks he's lucky.

    Charlie Albinson, goodness me.

The Ayr keeper comes rushing out and makes an absolute mess of a header.

The ball ends up falling for Brian Graham but his lobbed effort is waaaay off target. Big chance.

    Jack McMillan

Firhill erupts and it's Jack McMillan again!

Steven Lawless slips the right-back on the underlap into the box. It's a tight angle but McMillan squeezes in through the legs of the keeper.

Fine save up the other end.

Scott Tiffoney plucks down a ball from the moon then drills across goal but Charlie Albinson makes a good stop with his right hand.

What a strike. What a save.

Chris Maguire leathers one first time from about 25 yards but David Mitchell tips over.

The resulting corner has Thistle flapping but they survive again.

Josh Mullin curls in a fine ball from a deep free-kick... but no-one is there.

Perhaps an early glimpse of a lack of Dipo Akinyemi.

    Brilliant from Aidan Fitzpatrick.

He absolutely flies down the left, skips by his man then powers into the Ayr box.

He can't pick out a man though.

Positive news in a sense, Ayr fans? Means he should be back for next week.

There's a real belief in this Thistle team.

They look like they're getting stronger. They have a good blend of experience and youth and know what it takes in these play-off patches.

  20. 'We won't settle for second' - Bullenpublished at 19:39 British Summer Time 19 May 2023

Partick Thistle v Ayr Utd (19:45)

Due to finishing second, Ayr have had two weeks off to prepare for this and come into the tie unbeaten in five, albeit three of those games have been draws.

The two wins have come in their most recent outings though, with Lee Bullen's men ending the league season with back-to-back wins over Raith and Inverness.

They are looking to reach the top flight for the first time since in 1978.

"It's very, very difficult to comprehend how important it would be," Bullen said this week. "We're probably still in a bit of a dream state in relation to where we are.

"But the fact that we're in this position, there's no way we're just going to go out there and just be happy with finishing second in the league and making a semi-final in the play-offs."
