This is shaping up to be very similar to England's quarter-final win over Portugal. They had to defend their 1-0 lead in that match for the entire second half too.

Another Spain corner is whipped to the near post and poked behind by Curtis Jones. The second set-piece is nodded wide by Juan Miranda.

A let off for England!

Spain have the ball in the net as a free-kick is met by Abel Ruiz for a header that is powered past James Trafford.

Spain are really pushing now.

Oihan Sancet swivels and sees a shot deflected wide by Angel Gomes.

Levi Colwill is first to the corner to clear. These are nervy moments for England.

The corner is poor and cleared at the near post by Max Aarons.

Again, though, Levi Colwill is there to block, this time behind for a corner.

Spain respond but Levi Colwill is well placed to block a low ball in from right-back Victor Gomez.

England come out and try to exert some early pressure but Angel Gomes' pass out wide to Cole Palmer skips under the Man City player's boot and out of play.

England's U21s haven't conceded a goal yet in this tournament. If they can keep it that way for another 45 minutes they will be European champions for the first time since 1984.

As the players come off for half-time it seems as if the arguments are continuing down the tunnel!

The deflection for the England goal may well have come off Curtis Jones, you know. He knew little about it, but he may have grounds to claim it!

That erupted very quickly. Palmer celebrated his goal near to the Spanish bench which led to an altercation with both sets of players. .Ashley Cole and one of the Spanish coaching staff have been sent off!
