    HT: Aston Villa 0-1 Everton

    Shamoon Hafez
    BBC Sport at Villa Park

Boos at half-time from the home supporters.

Aston Villa have been very flat, not helped by thousands of empty seats inside the stadium.

Everton have been on it, in the faces of the Villa players - goalscorer James Garner has been impressive while Amadou Onana has bossed that midfield area.

    Newcastle 0-0 Manchester City

    Neil Lennon
Former Celtic manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

Newcastle just can't get near Man City. Eddie may have to look at it at half-time and bring some reinforcements on.

  11. 'Hackett has to score'published at 20:32 British Summer Time 27 September 2023

    Lincoln 0-0 West Ham

    Stephen Kelly
Former Tottenham defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

I think Hackett should score there, he's going to be kicking himself. This is a wonderful ball in from Smith, he stands the ball up perfectly and Hackett was up early.

Great save from Fabianski, point blank. All it has to be is side of the goalkeeper instead of straight down the middle and it's a goal.

Lincoln are causing West Ham loads of problems. The build-up play was excellent.

    Liverpool 0-1 Leicester

This is a great game but Leicester are just about keeping Liverpool at bay as the Reds surge forward in search of an equaliser.

Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota have both gone close, while Conor Coady has gone close to scoring an own goal attempting a clearance.

Another Julian Alvarez chance for Manchester City. Jack Grealish slips him in but Alvarez lashes his shot across goal. Not even sure where it ended up as the camera stopped following it.

    Aston Villa 0-1 Everton

Everton have a chance to double their lead at Villa Park. Arnaut Danjuma causes chaos down the left for the Toffees and gets the ball back after Matty Cash's clearance bounced off him.

The ball rebounds around the penalty area, Villa midfielder John McGinn slashes at it and very nearly blasts it into his own net, only for a diving Robin Olsen to spare his blushes and push the ball away.

Another chance for the visitors comes soon afterwards. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who scored at the weekend, is played through and only has Olsen to beat, but the keeper stands up, stays big and saves the strike.
