Ben Cabango makes sense, it makes them more solid down the middle, it gives Wales more protection centrally and allows Dan James to go through as a number nine and use that pace.

It is a wise move.

Turkey captain Hakan Calhanoglu tries his luck with a long-range shot but big Ben Cabango gets in the way.

Cabango always gives the impression that he absolutely loves defending. Tackling, blocking, heading. Loves it.

Wales have held their own, the frustrating thing is that Wales were having their best spell when Joe Morrell got sent off.

Overall from a defensive and tactical structure, you have to give the players and Rob Page credit.

The second half has started.

Centre-back Ben Cabango is on for Brennan Johnson for Wales.

You'd think it's partly injury-related, partly due to Wales looking to hold on.

Wales are making a habit of getting players sent off.

This is the first time they've had reds in back-to-back matches since Euro 2020 (Italy and Denmark) when Ethan Ampadu and Harry Wilson were sent off.

Matty Jones is relishing facing top seeds Denmark in his first competitive game in charge of Wales Under-21s.

Jones, the former Wales international, replaced Paul Bodin as manager in September 2022 and has taken charge of three friendly matches since then.

Wales face Denmark in Vejle in their opening game of the 2025 European Under-21 Championship qualifying campaign on Tuesday (17:00 BST).

"These are the starts that I ask for," Jones said.

Manage the game whether you are in possession or out of possession, relax, take your time and get the crowd involved for all the wrong reasons, get them on their own players' backs.

Turkey will definitely expect a win now, the pressure is on them. It wasn't a great first-half performance for Wales but they managed it well.
