With an average age of 28 years and 183 days, Germany’s starting XI was their oldest ever named for a Fifa Women's World Cup match, in their 45th game at the finals.

Since the start of the 2019 edition, Morocco are the 11th consecutive nation to lose their debut match at the Women's World Cup.

Six of the eight African nations to compete at the finals have lost their first match.

Morocco were only the second side to score two own goals in a single Fifa Women's World Cup match, after Ecuador v Switzerland in 2015.

'Germany always looked like they were going to score on set pieces'

On most of the set-pieces and especially corners, Germany have looked like they are going to score.

Having Alexandra Popp and then Lea Schuller coming on, with that strength aerially, teams will need to minimise the amount of set pieces they give away against them.
