Sofia Cantore has been the bright spark for this Italy team on the right hand side. Her shot is straight at Zecira Musovic and you expect her to just hold that. She spills it and straight away Italy are first to react.

Musovic does well to save the second shot but really good play from Italy down that right-hand side.

Bit nervy from Musovic, don't know if she just took her eyes off the ball when the shot came in because it looked like a routine save.

A chance for Italy. Sofia Cantore is looking lively and she shoots powerfully at goal from a tight angle.

Zecira Musovic is behind the strike, but can't hold on to it and she gets lucky as Lucia di Guglielmo can only fire the rebound into the side netting.

Di Guglielmo knew that was a chance and punches the turf in frustration. Italy have been the better side so far but not been able to make the breakthrough.

It's been a lovely winter's day in New Zealand's capital. The sun has shone for much of it while it's a mild night by Wellington's standards.

Everton's Nathalie Bjorn is wearing black gloves. The winter's are much colder in Liverpool than they are over here.

She's not alone. Italy's Chiara Beccari is also wearing them.

Wayne Ellis: Hard to see past a Sweden win here, with Kosovare Asllani likely the difference maker in midfield.

Italy's Lisa Boattin has a great delivery into the penalty area, as we saw for the assist for Cristiana Girelli's winner against Argentina, and Boattin whips in a free-kick from close to the right touchline.

But goalkeeper Zecira Musovic does well to come through a crowded penalty area and get two fists to the punch.

I think the good thing about Italy is they can mix their game up, they can look to play through the thirds.

Stina Blackstenius looks to race clear for Sweden, but it is good defending from Elena Linari to deny her getting into the penalty area.

It's been a real positive start for Italy, looking to get the ball out wide. They have clearly highlighted that as a weakness in the Sweden backline.

Sweden have got a reputation for going deep in tournaments, they've got a way of playing and a great front line.

Sofia Cantore is looking to repay the coach's faith in picking her and she is seeing a lot of the ball early on.

She gets free on the right wing but her cross is headed clear by Sweden's Magdalena Eriksson, who lifted the WSL trophy as Chelsea captain in May before moving to Bayern Munich.

Italy then win the first corner of the match, but the Swedes are again able to wipe out the threat.

Sweden start the match and get day 10 of the Women's World Cup under way.

Italy quickly grab the ball and have the first chance of the game as the incoming Sofia Cantore produces an angled shot which Chelsea goalkeeper Zecira Musovic gathers at the second attempt.

Italy have never beaten a fellow European nation at the World Cup, losing three of their four games against such opposition.

Now would be a good time to change that.

Wales missed out on a place at this World Cup after conceding a 120th-minute winner to Switzerland in a play-off.

But the country is being represented at this tournament by referee Cheryl Foster who takes charge of this match, while the Republic of Ireland's Michelle O'Neill is one of the assistant referees.

It is Bangor-born Foster's second game after overseeing Brazil's 4-0 Group F win over Panama in Adelaide on Monday.

Not surprised because if you look at Italy manager Milena Bertolini and how she wants to opt for youth over experience, she is phasing in a new transition for her players, bringing in younger players and getting more caps under their belt.

We know the quality that Girelli offers so she maybe can come into this game and have an impact.

Sweden did not make things easy for themselves against South Africa, but just about got away with it in the end.

I don't think they will have as much trouble putting Italy away, and they should book their place in the last 16 here. 2-0.

I don't expect Sweden to do much different [from the South Africa game] because they are very thorough in the way they play.

They have a lot of patience and trust in the way they play. They were not happy with the execution last time so that needs to be better but it will be the same idea today.

This is day 10 of the Women's World Cup.

Twenty-seven matches deep, 37 to come - including this - 60 goals scored and approaching 700,000 fans through the turnstiles to watch.

That figure is expected to hit the one million milestone by Wednesday or Thursday.

This is the first match at this ground since the United States drew 1-1 with Netherlands on Thursday. That game delivered 6,429,000 viewers on FOX Sports, making it the most-watched Women’s World Cup group stage broadcast ever on US English-language television.

Cristiana Girelli's 87th-minute winner against Argentina meant Italy have already bettered their performance at last summer's European Championships, when they failed to win a game after a humiliating 5-1 defeat by France.

Italy manager Milena Bertolini believes her side can use that momentum to carry them forward.

"In that first [Euro 2022] match we made a lot of mistakes, we suffered a very heavy loss that then impacted our excitement, our confidence for the rest of the tournament," Bertolini said.
