Emma Hayes would have told her players to continue focusing on what they need to do, ignore what Man City are doing and the state of the game at the moment.
Implement their tactical tweaks and focus on their own job.

Emma: Ref giving away yellows right, left and centre
Byeck: The ref is giving out more cards than Clintons!
Very poor refereeing to make that a sending off, if you’re having to book three players in the aftermath of your decision for dissent probably a sign you got it wrong and are losing control

It is a shocking decision. It is never a red card.
When Greenwood puts the ball down she looks for the best option and to go long would be a 50-50 in terms of retaining possession, so she stalls and tries to manage the situation.
The common sense option would be a warning.
And what you then see is that several yellow cards came after for City players out of pure frustration.
It ruins the game. It hasn't even been one of those games with challenges that have been worth yellows.
Brighton 0-2 West Ham
Riko Ueki should have done better there. She receives the ball on the edge of the box and has plenty of time to get a shot off, but she overhits it and it flies over the crossbar.
