Now it's Joao Cancelo who tries to wriggle has way through the Betis defence but he's also quickly closed down.

Barca try some intricate build-up and Joao Felix tries to play a triangle with Alex Balde but the latter is offside.

The balance swings back towards Barcelona and Ferran Torres has a sight of goal but he can't direct his effort on target from a tight angle.

Close! Ayoze Perez collects a delightful delivery and hits towards the Barcelona goal on the half-volley but the Betis winger hits the side netting.

Barcelona had 71.2% possession over the opening 15 minutes of this game.

Jules Kounde can't collect a loose ball and is dispossessed by Isco. He curls a wonderful pass towards Luiz Henrique but the Brazilian slices wide of the post.

That was a let-off for Barcelona. The ball is spilled in the middle of the park and Betis begin to charge forwards but eventually their chance fizzles out after Frenkie de Jong is fouled.

Once again it is Joao Felix who creates an attacking move for Barcelona.

He picks out Ferran Torres this time and the Betis defence have to scramble to clear the ball.

Robert Lewandowski is threaded through by Joao Felix and Barcelona appear to be through on goal. He looks behind to try and cut the ball back to Gavi but is unhappy with his teammate's positioning.

That was speculative from Joao Cancelo. The full-back cuts inside and unleashes an effort towards goal but it's high and over the crossbar.

Joao Felix provides an example of what he can do as he times a run well to wrap himself around a Betis player and snatch possession.

Nothing comes of the move he starts in the end but that showed promise.

Joao Felix is making his first start for Barcelona this evening after joining from Atletico Madrid on deadline day but he's yet to have any chances.
