  1. YELLOW CARDpublished at 36 mins

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Celta threaten on the break and Andreas Christensen has to haul down Jorgen Strand Larsen as the forward jinked past him.

Christensen gets the first booking of the day. One he'll happily take given the run Jonathan Bamba had made in behind him.

  2. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Ilkay Gundogan goes down in the box as he challenges for a cross.

Nothing doing, though, and the referee waves play on.

  3. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Brief concern for Jorgen Strand Larsen as he goes down holding his groin.

For a moment it looked as though he would not be able to continue but it looks like he is going to give it a go.

Celta will certainly hope it is one he can run off.

  4. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Marcos Alonso tries his luck from distance. The shot is hit well enough but was always heading wide.

  5. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Barcelona had not conceded a home goal all season before today but they're looking very vulnerable on the break now.

Robert Lewandowski wants a free-kick on the edge of the Celta box, the referee plays on and the visitors break.

It's four on three for a moment but Jonathan Bamba slows it down, allowing the defenders to get back but the eventual cutback still nearly reaches Luca de la Torre. A last-ditch block saves Barca.

  6. CLOSE!published at 23 mins

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Now it's Barcelona's turn to pass up a good opportunity.

It's a smart move through the middle and it ends with Ilkay Gundogan rolling the ball into the the path of Joao Felix.

The forward takes the shot first time on his left foot but hits it well over the bar.

  7. CLOSE!published at 21 mins

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

    It should be 2-0!

Celta Vigo slice their way through the Barcelona defence and Jonathan Bamba finds himself with just the goalkeeper to beat.

He tries to be unselfish and square it for a team-mate but under-hits the pass and Andreas Christensen intercepts.

    A big chance goes begging.

GOAL - Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigopublished at 19 mins

    Jorgen Strand Larsen

    Brilliant finish!

I said they were growing in confidence, that confidence will be sky-high now because Jorgen Strand Larsen has put them in front.

The Celta corner is only half cleared, it is hooked back towards the penalty ahead and Luca de la Torre guides the ball into the path of Strand Larsen.

Good first touch from the Norwegian and the finish is even better, low to Marc-Andre ter Stegen's left - no chance for the goalkeeper.

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

    Close!

Celta are beginning to grow in confidence now and Iago Aspas comes close to putting them in front.

A lovely bit of interplay sees Jorgen Strand Larsen flick the ball around the corner for Aspas.

The Celta skipper is in but a poor first touch means he has to scoop the shot from behind him and Marc-Andre ter Stegen tips it over.

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

    That's a sore one!

Iago Aspas is caught late by Andreas Christensen as he flicks the ball around the corner.

The referee waits a moment to see if there's an advantage before blowing for the free-kick. Christensen escapes without a booking.

  11. Postpublished at 12 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

Barcelona have just started to increase the tempo, ever so slightly. That leads to a sloppy clearance and Joao Cancelo slides the ball in to Ilkay Gundogan.

His cross from the byline is cleared and Celta break again. Jonathan Bamba whips in the cross from the right but Cancelo is back to head it clear at the far post.

  12. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

Better from Barcelona and Joao Felix puts in a dangerous ball from the left.

It's an in-swinger curling towards the far post but Celta are just able to scramble it away.

  13. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

Plenty of possession for Barcelona but they've not got anywhere near the Celta goal as yet.

While the away side have been happy to settle into their defensive shape, they've been quick to snap into tackles and put pressure on Barca the moment they get into the final third.

  14. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

A first foray forward for Celta as they win the ball back midway inside their own half and Luca de la Torre is send away down the left.

He fires a low ball across the face of goal but there is no Celta player there to meet it.

An encouraging moment for the visitors, though.

  15. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

The game has already begun to settle into a familiar pattern with Barcelona confidently passing the ball around and Celta Vigo sitting deep and holding their shape.

  16. KICK-OFFpublished at 17:33 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

The home side gets the game under way, Barcelona have scored 12 and conceded none in home games so far this campaign.

The teams are out at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys then and kick-off is just a few moments away.

A reminder that a victory for Barca would take them above Real Madrid and leaders Girona to the top of the La Liga table.

I say it isn't too long since Celta last won at the Nou Camp, whatever the result tonight, they will have to wait a while longer for their next one.

That's because Barcelona aren't playing at the Nou Camp this season, of course. While the famous old stadium is renovated, Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys is home for Xavi's side.

However, Barcelona are coming into this game in great form.

Real Betis and Royal Antwerp have been swept aside as Xavi's side have racked up back-to-back 5-0 home wins.

The goals are being shared around, too. Robert Lewandowski leads the way (of course, he does) with four in all competitions so far but Ferran Torres and Joao Felix each have three and Gavi has got a couple as well.

Even if Celta can keep them out, scoring themselves is another matter. Barcelona have kept 18 clean sheets in 21 home games in La Liga since the start of last season - at least six more than any other side in Europe's top five leagues.

That's not the only stat that Celta Vigo can look to for a bit of hope.

They actually won the last meeting between the sides at the end of last season.

Homegrown midfielder Gabri Veiga - who has since departed to join Al-Ahli - scored both goals in a 2-1 win to help Celta secure their top-flight status.

In fact, you don't have to go back too much further for Celta's last win at the Nou Camp. That came in May 2021 when Santi Mina's 89th-minute winner secured a 2-1 success for the visitors.
