Norwich have themselves a succession of corners now.

Their first is well blocked, then their second from the left finds Sam McCallam, who unleashes powerful half volley.

Again it's blocked and the danger is averted.

As soon as he took a touch he was almost closed down, that made him panic a little bit.

Not for the first time, I have to write those three words "what a miss".

This time it is the excellent Wes Burns who blazes wildly over the bar from the edge of the area.

Norwich were almost made to pay dearly there for giving the ball up deep in their own half.

Another minute passes and another chance goes begging for Ipswich.

Nathan Broadhead does well in the first instance to dig the ball out from under his feet, but his attempted curled finish goes just wide.

Norwich are really lucky not to be one or two goals down.

They need to see that as an opportunity, it shows they are still in this contest.

And it's another big chance for Ipswich. They are coming like London busses in Suffolk right now.

Again Wes Burns plays a big part, fizzing a low ball across goal to find Leif Davis as he steams into the box.

The first-time effort from Davis, however, is clutched by Norwich goalkeeper Angus Gunn at his near post.

The next chance Nathan Broadhead just needed a little composure, you expect him to put that away.

How are Ipswich not ahead right now!?

They have had two big chances in the space of a minute.

First Wes Burns has a goalbound effort blocked sensationally by Shane Duffy before Nathan Broadhead sends a golden chance wide after dancing his way through on goal.

He should have scored.

Both these sides have a dangerous long throws in their locker, and Sam McCallum has Ipswich back in numbers to deal with his his effort from the left.

But for all the promises of early threats and chances, neither side has really managed to create much as Adrian Coote just alluded to.

The difference is when the Ipswich defenders have the ball the Norwich forwards sit off them.

When the Norwich defenders have it, the Ipswich players press them quickly and try and force them into mistakes.

Sam McCallum certainly has his hands full trying to deal with Ipswich's Wes Burns.

He comes in with a great tackle, but from the resulting throw deep in their own half Norwich give up the ball and just allow the hosts a little sight of a potential chance before Canaries scramble to see off the threat.

Ashley Barnes goes chasing a lost cause as the ball runs long.

Ipswich goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky goes to see the ball out for a goal kick, but Barnes comes in with a tackle.

The keeper goes down in a heap and Barnes gets off with a bit of a telling off from referee Josh Smith.

Now Ipswich have a free-kick from the right after Wes Burns is cut down.

Sam Morsy lifts the ball dangerously into the area, but Cameron Burgess' header at the end of it sails over the bar.

Wes Burns has seen plenty of the ball early on on the right for Ipswich.

He has his cross blocked, so a long throw is heaved into the area by Harry Clarke, but Norwich deal with the danger.

Leif Davis has Ipswich fans off their feet as he runs into space down the left.

The ball is worked inside, but when the final pass is threaded into the box there is no-one to meet it.
