    Jason Knight (84 mins)

Nightmare for Hull City and delight for Bristol City.

First, Matt Ingram had to come on after Ryan Allsop's treatment wasn't enough, and the Hull sub failed to deal with a strike which seemed to squirm beyond him.

Jason Knight was the man in shining armour, racing into the box and letting fly for Bristol City, who have now turned it round from 2-1 down to lead again.

    Topsy-turvy affair.

    Bristol City 2-2 Hull City

Ryan Allsop is in the wars and gets the physio on for treatment in the Hull goal.

After a little stoppage, we're back under way.

  4. Swansea fans show their discontentpublished at 21:28 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

    Swansea 1-1 Preston

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium

Sections of Swansea's support are chanting in protest at the club's American owners.

'We want our club' is among the songs being sung, with chairman Andy Coleman in attendance this evening.

These are difficult times for the Welsh club, who looked to be making progress at the end of last season under Russell Martin but have since lost their way.

And for the moment, of course, they do not have a permanent head coach.

    Bristol City 2-2 Hull City

That goal from Bristol City's Anis Mehmeti wasn't too dissimilar to opponent Aaron Connolly's goal for Hull in the first half.

    Cut in, curled it, scored.

Mind you, Ryan Allsop will be disappointed having got something on it not to keep it out, just as Gary Owers was saying on BBC Radio Bristol.

  6. goal

GOAL: Crewe 1-3 Barrowpublished at 21:25 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

    Ben Whitfield (76 mins)

Second goal of the game for Ben Whitfield, assisted by substitute Robbie Gotts who has only been on the field for 16 minutes.

This goal from the head of Whitfield after Gotts' looped cross.

  7. 'Goalkeeper should save that'published at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

    Bristol City 2-2 Hull City

    Gary Owers
Former Bristol City midfielder on BBC Radio Bristol

Well I was just saying we know what he is - right footed cutting in on his left. It's a good strike but the goalkeeper should save that.

Liam Manning will be quietly satisfied with that. He made the triple substitution and it has had the desired affect.

  8. goal

    Anis Mehmeti (76 mins)

Bristol City drag themselves level again and it's from the boot of Anis Mehmeti.

The London-born Albania international is off the mark for the season and it's with something of a pearler.

He drifts in from the touchline and sends in a stunner to beat Ryan Allsop and set Ashton Gate off again.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

    Bristol City 1-2 Hull City

Hull defender Jacob Greaves is later than my Christmas cards to the family, and gets himself a booking.

    Swansea 1-1 Preston

Almost a repeat performance from Liam Millar, as he against tests Swans goalkeeper Carl Rushworth.

This time the Preston forward is denied.

It's livened up all of a sudden.

Have Crawley been thrown a lifeline here? Wimbledon 2-0 up and cruising have just had Joe Lewis sent off for a second bookable offence. 23 minutes plus stoppages to go in West Sussex.

  12. 'Millar still had a lot to do'published at 21:17 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

    Swansea 1-1 Preston

    Jamie Hoyland
Former Preston youth coach on BBC Radio Lancashire

It's a fantastic goal. Ched Evans deserves a lot of credit getting the ball, but Millar still had a lot to do.

He's got them back in the game - he's a player where if you get the ball to him he will cause problems.

  13. goal

    Liam Millar (67 mins)

He was an enforced sub but Liam Millar has been one of the better performers for Preston and now he's squared it up for North End.

The cross into the Swansea box was overhit but picked up by Millar at the back post.

Millar cut back inside from the left of the box, opens up his body and bends a beauty past Carl Rushworth into the bottom right corner.

His goal was as eye-catching as his peroxide barnet.

    Stockport 1-0 Notts County

    Sanny Rudravajhala
    Reporting for 5 Live Sport

This game is getting a bit stretched now, and the home crowd have responded by turning up the volume a couple notches.

Notts County, have shown enough endeavour to have levelled, and indeed did have the ball in the back of the net only for it to be disallowed from a cross to David McGoldrick.

Both teams have cleared chances off the line too. You just feel like there needs to be a bit more urgency though.

Stockport shouldn’t be content with the one because it feels like a matter of time before Notts County can get back into it.

  15. The moment of quality this game neededpublished at 21:12 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

    Swansea 1-0 Preston

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium

A moment of quality, at last.

This game has been distinctly short on it, but a moment of class has broken the deadlock.

It was delicious, lofted pass from Matt Grimes which gave Jamie Paterson space in the Preston penalty area, and his crisp, measured finish was just as impressive.

Finally this game has come to life.

  16. 'It's a well-taken goal'published at 21:11 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

    Swansea 1-0 Preston

    Jamie Hoyland
Former Preston youth coach on BBC Radio Lancashire

    It's a well-taken goal.

Preston sunk too deep, when the clearance comes back in they were too deep. It's been coming, and I say that because they have been inviting Swansea onto them.

They have a hill to climb to get back into this game.

    Bristol City 1-2 Hull City

Aaron Connolly has the kind of effort you tend to see on sport-themed aftershave or shaving foam adverts - a spectacular bicycle kick - but it's saved by Bristol City goalkeeper Max O'Leary.

  18. Postpublished at 21:09 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

    Bristol City 1-2 Hull City

    Sophie Hurcom
    BBC Sport at Ashton Gate

It's gone a bit flat the last 15 minutes and the home fans are trying to get their side going, without much luck.

Aside from Mark Sykes sending a volley wide right after the restart, Bristol City haven't created anything and it's Hull who look more likely to score another goal.

  19. goal

GOAL: Swansea 1-0 Prestonpublished at 21:07 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

    Jamie Paterson (60 mins)

Superb finish by Swansea striker Jamie Paterson to break the deadlock.

It was a classy little dink into space by Matt Grimes, and Paterson stroked it first time, curling it beyond Dai Cornell and in.

    Great effort.

  20. goal

GOAL: Crewe 1-2 Barrowpublished at 21:07 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

    Elliott Nevitt (58 mins)

Elliott Nevitt heads Crewe back into this match following an in-swinging corner from Rio Adebisi.

Barrow respond with a sub: Robbie Gotts for Kian Spence.
