GOAL! St Johnstone 1-0 Kilmarnockpublished at 19:49 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2023

    Nicky Clark

First goal of the night is for managerless St Johnstone. What a start for Alex Clelland!

Chris Kane absolutely rifles one at Will Dennis, who parries the powerful effort, but there's nothing he can do to stop Nicky Clark on the follow up.

The linesman had his flag up, but VAR intervenes as Clark is well on.

  3. 'I'm comfortable with the pressure' - Naismithpublished at 19:44 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2023

    Hearts v Livingston (19:45)

Hearts head coach Steven Naismith tells BBC Sportsound: "We need to start fast, cause them problems with attacking football and go for the win.

"That, plus it being a three-game week, we need to make changes. It's shown in previous fixtures that when we don't, it can be a little bit leggy so we've brought in some good quality.

"As a group we have to sit and think, how do we get the fans behind us? We have to set a tempo that the fans will be excited about. We have to give them something that makes them want to come back.

On the pressure of the job, he added: "In this day and age, there is a demand for instant success. As you get older, you understand the only way you can change that is continuing to do what you believe in, striving to be better and ultimately getting results.

"I'm comfortable with the situation and the pressure that comes along with it."

    St Johnstone v Kilmarnock (19:45)

Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes tells BBC Sportsound: "I was really pleased with a lot of aspects of the game on Sunday. Our preparation was a bit different this time.

"We decided to concentrate on ourselves and try to replicate what was good from Sunday.

"For us, our performances have been decent on the road. I'm just trying to focus on the performance, rather than home or away.

"If the performance can be similar to those as of late, we give ourselves a good chance."

  5. 'MacLean wouldn't want players moping' - Clellandpublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2023

    St Johnstone v Kilmarnock (19:45)

Interim St Johnstone boss Alex Clelland tells BBC Sportsound: "It's been difficult, but we've always got games to look forward to. We try to focus on the game. We've got to try and get the fans back on side and put on exciting performances.

"We're going to try and get a result against a good Kilmarnock side. We've got to get on with it. It's what Steven [MacLean] and Liam [Craig] would have wanted. They wouldn't want me or the players moping about. They want what's best for St Johnstone.

Asked about how long he'll be in charge, he says: "Just do this game and what's going to happen upstairs will happen upstairs. The main thing tonight is about three points and enjoying the game."

  6. Green Brigade say Celtic board are 'shaming club'published at 19:41 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2023

    Celtic v St Mirren (19:45)

There will be no Green Brigade at Celtic Park this evening.

The fans' group have had their season tickets withdrawn over what the club described as a "serious escalation" in unacceptable behaviour.

The Green Brigade have since accused Celtic's board of shaming the club by "attempting to censor and sanction Palestinian solidarity".

That comes after the supporters' group recently defied pleas by Celtic not to bring Palestinian flags to matches.

  7. 'We can't switch off mentally' - Robinsonpublished at 19:40 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2023

    Celtic v St Mirren (19:45)

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Sportsound: "We beat Celtic last year, but we did it our way. We didn't change, and that's the lesson I've learned.

"We've concentrated on how we can be better at what we do rather than changing shape or personnel.

"Mentally you can't switch off once here. The mental side of the game is the hardest bit when you come up against the top teams.

"There's a lot of belief in the changing room, but everyone knows we need to be a percentage higher tonight."

  8. Robson needs Dons to 'bounce back'published at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2023

    Motherwell v Aberdeen (19:45)

Aberdeen manager Barry Robson tells BBC Sportsound: "Just bounce back. You're going to lose games in football, but you can't let it get to you. You have to move on as quick as you can. The message has been clear.

"We've played so many different types of game this season - we're really enjoying it, but we need to make sure we bring a positive performance.

"We can't get carried away thinking about games in the future - you have to focus on the here and now.

"We want to be higher, we have a game in hand. We need to start picking up points in the league."

    Hearts v Livingston (19:45)

Livingston manager David Martindale tells BBC Sportsound: "[CEO] Dave [Black] contacted me saying St Johnstone wanted permission to speak to me.

"I went in and spoke to Dave, asked what was happening and he said, 'we don't want you to leave' and I went back downstairs and took training.

"If the board had said they think I should go and speak to St Johnstone, then I would have gone and spoken to St Johnstone."

On his career ambitions, he added: "I don't come into work not to be at Livingston. I trust people that I have worked with for 10 years. They have my word, if they want me here at Livingston, I will be here.

"If something in the future came that was a no-brainer, then I trust the people at Livingston to do what is right not just for Livingston, but for David Martindale.

"Livingston changed my life, they gave me a career in professional football and I'll honour my word. I love being the manager of Livingston."

  11. 'Comeback could be catalyst for Motherwell' - Kettlewellpublished at 19:32 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2023

    Motherwell v Aberdeen (19:45)

Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell tells BBC Sportsound: "I think this playing surface is the best in the country, so we were never in any danger. It's handled the water no problem at all.

"We've got loads of positives from this season, even in a few defeats there's been things to like. The comeback on Saturday could be the catalyst for piecing together another run, as difficult as that is in this league.

"We have to find that formula that means we don't give away cheap goals and chances and carry a threat at the top end of the park. When I started here, I wanted to make us hard to play against, hard to beat.

"It looks like Aberdeen are trying to match us up man-for-man so we need to dominate the central area of the park. If we can do that, we give ourselves a chance."

  12. As they standpublished at 19:30 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2023

    Celtic v St Mirren (19:45)

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers tells BBC Sportsound: "I'm just freshening the team up. We've got a good squad of players.

"Cameron Carter-Vickers is still working on his knee and some of the issues around that - it's a chance for him to recover and then he'll be ready for the weekend and beyond that.

"David Turnbull offers us a goal threat and James Forrest is a player I can trust in these situations.

"It will be a tough game. I'm really looking forward to it against a team Stephen [Robinson] has done fantastically well [with]. We have to be patient and play with speed and quality in our game."
