    Coventry 0-0 Plymouth

Coventry have started fairly lively so far.

Milan Van Ewijk made a break for down the wing but his cross into the box was blocked while Ben Sheaf has had the first real chance of the game so far for the home side with a shot from outside the box, which was cleared for a corner.

We have our first goal of the night in the Championship.

Hull take the lead against Rotherham and it comes via Liverpool loanee Tyler Morton who taps in from inside the box.

It comes as Millers keeper Viktor Johansson fails to collect the ball, diverting it into the path of Morton who makes no mistake.

  3. Norwich hoping to continue their resurgencepublished at 19:52 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2023

    Watford v Norwich (20:00 GMT)

A battle of mid-table teams at Vicarage Road tonight in our solitary 20:00 GMT fixture.

Watford's six-game unbeaten run came to an end at the weekend as they were defeated by Championship leaders Leicester.

Norwich, meanwhile, have quelled their recent poor run of form and arrive to face the Hornets off the back of two wins in a row.

Having already beaten Cardiff away from home, can the Canaries seal two away wins from their past three games?

There will be a minute's applause before a number of tonight's kick-offs to pay tribute to former England manager Terry Venables, who died on Saturday aged 80.

Venables managed England from 1994 to 1996, most notably leading them to the semi-finals of Euro 96 on home soil.

The former England player also managed Barcelona and Tottenham during his career.

Cardiff v West Brom (19:45 GMT)

There's an air of hope and positivity about Cardiff City at the moment, which has not been the case in recent years.

Having only narrowly avoided relegation from the Championship in the past two seasons, the Bluebirds have been rejuvenated under manager Erol Bulut and could climb into the play-off spots with victory over fifth-place West Brom tonight.

Speaking to supporters on the way into Cardiff City Stadium tonight, you get the sense that this is a fanbase fully behind their team's boss and enjoying the football on show.

West Brom will be a stern test tonight, though. Theirs is a squad stacked with quality and, in Carlos Corberan, they also have a manager enhancing his reputation with a strong start to the season.

  9. QPR setting the wrong kind of recordspublished at 19:37 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2023

    QPR v Stoke (19:45 GMT)

QPR are now six points from safety after falling to an 11th defeat of the campaign against Norwich on Saturday leaving them also winless in their last 11 games.

In fact, they are currently breaking records for all the wrong reasons. The R’s remain the only team without a win at home this season and their poor form at Loftus Road – no win in their last 12 games – is the worst in their entire history.

QPR have also not scored more than one goal at home in their last 22 league games, a run in the second tier that only Sheffield Wednesday and Blackpool have ever gone longer.

They host a mid-table Stoke City side who fell to a lacklustre 3-0 defeat against Blackburn in their last outing, to end an unbeaten five-game streak.

  10. Can Boro boost home goal record v Preston?published at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2023

    Middlesbrough v Preston (19:45 GMT)

It was a case of contrasting fortunes for Preston either side of the international break.

They took the spoils by leaving it late to defeat Blackburn in the Lancashire derby earlier this month but were stunned by Cardiff upon their return to action.

Middlesbrough will hope to claw the gap on the play-off places with victory this evening and if they do so they will be just a point behind Ryan Lowe's side come bedtime.

Boro have won 14 of 22 home games in the Championship under Michael Carrick but have scored just seven goals in eight games at the Riverside this season.

What better time to turn that record around?

  11. Rotherham's ominous record at Hullpublished at 19:29 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2023

    Hull v Rotherham (19:45 GMT)

Hull are hovering just outside the Championship play-off places as they welcome Rotherham tonight.

But don't be fooled by the managerless Millers' position in the table.

Wayne Carlisle has taken interim charge of Rotherham after Matt Taylor's sacking and they pulled off a sensational performance to hold Leeds to a draw on Friday.

However they have conceded 21 goals in eight away games in the Championship this season and haven't won at Hull since January 1996.

    Ominous.

  12. A rare league meeting in Coventrypublished at 19:25 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2023

    Coventry v Plymouth (19:45 GMT)

Coventry and Plymouth meet tonight for the first time in the Championship since March 2010 and the first time in any league fixture since 2018-19.

Argyle beat Sunderland at the weekend in order to give themselves a welcome cushion on the bottom three.

The Sky Blues are just one place below them in what is a battle at the wrong end of the table for two teams who had excellent times last season.

Who will surge up the table tonight? Results elsewhere pending, a position in mid-table could be up for grabs for the victor.

  13. Bluebirds and Baggies fight for top sixpublished at 19:22 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2023

Cardiff v West Brom (19:45 GMT)

    Brandon Thomas-AsanteImage source, Getty Images

A win tonight would see Cardiff jump above their opponents in the table, who sit in fifth going into tonight’s match.

The Bluebirds fly into the game off the back of a win against one of their other play-off rivals (as it stands) on Saturday, when they scored two late stoppage time goals to beat Preston 2-1.

They are also enjoying a strong spell at the Cardiff City Stadium this season and sit joint-fifth in the league’s table for home form and have scored in all 10 of their last games there, their longest run since 2012.

The Baggies have an ever-so slightly better recent record than Cardiff, with only one loss in their last six, but have only left the Welsh capital with one win in their last eight visits.
